Edited by: NightmareX on 12/01/2011 19:25:18 Hello \
As the subject are saying, i want to find out what's the best recording program that is out today.
I have tried all of them, and all seems to be working good.
But i want to hear what you guys says about those 3 recording programs.
List down what's good and bad with those programs. And tell me what's better with Fraps over PlayClaw for example, or what's better with DxTory over PlayClaw and so on.
The reason i'm asking is because i need a good recording program now since i'm going back to low sec to do piracy and stuffs like that in some days. So i need a good program to take footages with.
My computer spec can you see here in case you are wondering about that.
So let me know what you think about the different programs here.

Fraps has been around the longest, is the simplest, and I've never had any problems with it whatsoever. I've never even heard of the that other crap. - MY LATEST VIDEO - FRIGANK VIII |

I found this that explains a little on what's better with DxTory over Fraps. And it also shows recordings from different games.

That guy's voice was awful.
OT: I've not used this product, but from reading the Japanese translated forums for it, I am not seeing what benefits over Fraps this has, or even if it is a comparable product, from an EVE perspective.
I guess it seems as if they are promoting lots of solutions to problems that do not exist, and from what I can see, the only way to get the quality of what is being promoted in that video (1280x720) then I would have to record to 3 HDD's at the same time?
I might be missing the point, but with Fraps I push a button and it records - what more do I need?

Yeah the voice on that guy wasn't directly good heh.
But i think you can use up to 3 HDD's to make footages so it wont be that much of a stress on one HDD when you are recording. So that's why i think you can use up to 3 HDD's.

Fraps, if something goes wrong, there is always somebody in the corp who knows about it to help out.

I have used fraps before and it's a great tool and really easy to use. Asign a hot key create a directory and boom you are recording.
I only ran into a problem once on my laptop while I was recording. I started to lag because I forgot that it was still running. Come to find out it ate up most of my HD space. I would recommend remembering when it's recording or not especially if you have limited HD space. (hey it was my first time using it give me a break )

Fraps is easily worth the money as it seems to be the most versatile recording tool out there.

I forgot to say in my first post that i have already made one more 'crappy' video from TQ with Fraps and one from Sisi with Fraps long time ago.
And Fraps was working very good that time. It still works really nice for me though after i have been tesing Fraps much more now.
The first movie that is from TQ is this. It's the movie i made from the time i was in Triumvirate where we killed 5x RZR Motherships in the same fight.
The second move i made, was not a real movie since it was just some testing i was doing on Sisi and then sat together a test movie out of it. Just to see how it got.
Here is the movie. It's just some 1 vs 1 fights with the Megathron Federate Issue i had that time on Sisi.
So by looking at that, Fraps is like others are saying here, the best choice since it's simple and doesn't have many things that isn't really needed.

Fraps is simple very much. But a little problem of my laptop that it will be limited under 30fps when recording

I've been thinking this exact same thing, not tried DXtory yet but of the other 2 i like Playclaw better, simply because fraps limits the ingame fps to whatever your recording at, which is always 30 fps. And 30 fps when your used to a constant 60 is so jerky it starts to give me a headach. For output they are the same as far as i can tell.
