Unfortunately no, I've tried some things, but nothing satisfactory as I'm kinda stuck as to how it would work UI wise... A single button wouldn't do, because you'd want to be able to go back after seeing the second best price, or even the third... Thoughts ?

What's the easiest way to go about updating Eve001Tool?
Just delete the old folder and copy over new files?

If your version is recent enough, you just have copy those files :
* Eve001Tool.exe * IniParser.dll * Log4Eve001.dll
And it should work, and keep all your old settings !

You could have an arrow pointing right and one left and make that choose the current price you see and have in clipboard. it would be two such buttons for buy and two for sell for a total of four. They could be located to the right of the current copy sell and copy price. If that made it too long maybe we could shorten the red price windows a bit since they are a bit longer than needed for most people atm.
That's how I'd do it anyway.

hi, one quick question, does your tool only facilitate station trade, as i am doing regional stuff mostly. (that is buyorders, ofc. i am considering getting it for the sole purpose of selling already.)
regards & fly save.

<edit> i took a look at your free version, and there is a option to calculate buy prices as "highest region price" does that mean if i was trading in the forge for example that i compete with Every buyorder in the region or i compete with the regional orders? (as i would like to :D ).
regards & fly save.
Indeed, there are several options you can choose from when selecting which orders you want to outbid, or not.
For sell orders, you can choose to outbid orders from the station you are trading in, or all orders from the entire region.
For buy orders, you have those two options as well, plus another one, to outbid only the orders you are actually competing against : (ie orders which are in a station X jumps away, where the range of the order is equal or greater than x).
Hope this helps.

Hi Bom,
I am still enjoying your nice tool!!
One question / request: - is it possible to only select Buy OR Sell orders to trigger the alarm and stop the IGB? Sometimes I would like to play the 0.01isk game on Buy or Sell orders only and not bother about the other type.
Thanks |

Bug report:
http://img27.imageshack.us/i/bug2ie.png/
... with the image edited to remove my username, obviously.
I've had this happen maybe 3-4 times over 10+ hours of use. I think it usually happens after the program's been left untended for a while (i.e. I've left it running minimized for a while while doing other stuff). In this particular case I hadn't touched Eve001Tool or the log window for roughly 20min.
If it helps, I usually keep both the Eve001Tool window and the log window open, but minimized. This is on Windows 7 Home Premium. I could provide more specs if they're relevant.
Again, this has happened perhaps 3-4 times total over a lot of usage. It's not enough to interfere with the value of the tool, but it's still a bug.

I'd love this as it would enable me to concentrate on restock, or sell, according to what my situation is. I'd had the exact same thoughts and it was on my wishlist.

Likely a bug: The Advanced Item Options window doesn't query an updated item list automatically when opened (i.e. from the list of items the IGB queries). You can do this manually from the window's menu, so there's no actual lost functionality, it just seems an odd omission. I can't imagine a time the user wouldn't want an updated list.
Possibly a bug: I think the Advanced Item Options window failed to preserve some "Send restock entries to the log" checkbox statuses when closed and reopened. I'm not 100% sure. I think I added a bunch of items to the IGB list manually (i.e. typing in part of the name, searching, and adding it, instead of querying from my market orders), opened the advanced item window, refreshed the item list from the IGB list, unchecked all the Restock checkboxes, closed the advanced item window, ran Eve001Tool for a while (via the IGB), noticed a restock entry appear in the log, reopened the Advanced Item Options window, and all the items I manually entered - that Eve001Tool had never searched for previously - had "Send restock entries to the log" checked again. If I notice it happen again I'll report it faster while my memory's still fresh.
Feature request: The log window remembers its position and size when closed and reopened, but not when you close and reopen Eve001Tool itself. That'd be nifty.
To be clear, all these bug reports/feature requests aren't urgent. You, and third parties reading this, shouldn't think I'm in any way unsatisfied with the program. I just know how much easier it is for software users to identify and report issues through their many hours with the program than the poor developer trying to identify them all solo.
That being said, I'm very appreciative of the speed of the "let me disable restock entries in the log" and "fix the scrollbar being squeezed out of the log window" updates.

Please turn down the refresh timer to reduce load increase per user and stop CCP from blocking this kind of use.
One query every 5-7 seconds would be much better then every second.

Could you be a little more specific ? if you are talking about the rate at which Eve001Tool ask the eve client for market details, you can change the frequency in the options, and the default is 5, which is reasonable in my opinion.
If you are talking about the in game browser page refreshes itself, it is indeed 1 second, but the server polled is "localhost", ie your own machine. (Eve001Tool acts as a barebone http server.). So unless the in game browser has a special hidden spai logic, that sends all the pages you are visiting to CCP, this cannot increase the load on CCP servers.

So, here is a quick update about what I'm working on, and what will be available in the next version :
* The bug which in rare cases caused a crashed when using the cache reading is fixed. * I'm working on a way to pause or play the alarm only under certain conditions (buy, sell, or restock order). * The log window will remember it's last position if Eve001Tool is closed. * I'm working on a way to be able to browse more than one price. (ie you will be able to see the second, third, or fourth best prices for buy and sell orders in the Eve001Tool main window.) * The advanced order filtering will now auto-load your updated IGB list when it is opened. I haven't been able to reproduce the Advanced filtering failing to remember some options, as explained by Kethas... Make sure you are closing the window using the "Ok" or "Apply" button, and it should work. (Anyone else experiencing the same thing ?)

If your Eve001Tool has stopped reading cache data after patching EVE to Incursion 1.4, you need to change your "Folder of cache data" in Eve001Tool's settings from:
... \MachoNet\87.237.38.200\259\CachedMethodCalls\ ...
to
... \MachoNet\87.237.38.200\265\CachedMethodCalls\ ...
That fixed it for me.

Linkage
getting this error almost everytime i load it up and start going through orders.
the annoying thing is, is that if it crashes halfway through checking orders, when i reboot it the tool assumes it has already read all the previous orders so i do not get updates until the market changes again.
is most annoying

The next version of Eve001Tool is available, sorry for the delay.
Here is what's new in 1.3.0 :
* The bug which in rare cases (ok maybe not so rare for some users) caused a crashed when using the cache reading is fixed. * You can now pause or play the alarm only under certain conditions (buy, sell, or restock order). * The log window will remember it's last position if Eve001Tool is closed. * You can now browse more than one price. (ie you will be able to see the second, third, or fourth best prices for buy and sell orders in the Eve001Tool main window.) * The advanced order filtering will now auto-load your updated IGB list when it is opened.
DOWNLOAD VERSION 1.3.0 HERE
How to update :
If you are using a previous version of Eve001Tool, you only have to copy the executables (*.exe and *.dll files). The application will try to keep your old settings whenever possible. If you are having trouble with this method, you should try a "fresh" install, and copying your settings manually. Also I'd recommend keeping a backup copy of your old Eve001Tool folder, just in case.

Edited by: Kethas Protagonist on 01/05/2011 10:22:21 The cache scr4p3r (thanks for keeping us safe CCP) appears broken as of 1.30. Specifically, Eve001Tool's main window never updates with information regarding the viewed market orders, even if those orders have changed (and thus presumably a new cache file has been generated). I've double-checked that my "Folder of cache data" is correct, and have tried restarting Eve001Tool, running it as administrator (I'm on Windows 7), and restarting Windows.
My previous install of 1.29 still works fine (or rather, still works like it always did, with the occasional cache-scraping-related crash).

How is this tool useful unless you do epic ammounts of 0.01 isking? Exporting market log on every single item you trade is quite the time consumer I would think. And even in Jita, I almost always recognize my own buy/sell order cuz of the ammount.
But maybe I'm being thick again :P

Lol, yeah it's mostly usefull if you are into 0.01 isking, hence the name Eve001Tool. Although there are other applications.
You probably missed the point where you could leave Eve001Tool running in the background for half an hour, and when you come back you have a list of orders you need to update (with the correct amount). Thanks to igb browsing and cache scraping, you don't even have to click the export buttons anymore.

Hi Bom
Your latest version 1.30B is very nice - but I have some prob. maybe related to the way we use , and . in EU The prices(Buy orders) are with "," where it schould be "." Instead of 12000.01 when copy and pasted into EVE it gives 1200001 ..... more of those and I am ruined
I am back to 1.2.8 again - works perfect

This shouldn't be happening if you use the "copy" button from the main window.
If you are trying to copy prices from the log window, just clicking on the cell should copy the correct price to the clipboard, in a format Eve can understand. Typing "ctrl -c" isn't necessary anymore, and it might copy the raw data (with a "," instead of a ".") to the clipboard.
Can you tell me what method you are using to copy the prices to the clipboard?
