Greetings all!
This is going to be the thread I'll use for my app development.
Courier Contract Calculator This app is used by me and my alliance to calculate the rewards for trips from one system to another. It's basic, but it works. Feedback appreciated! - Instant calculation - WH Jumps Supported - Low/Null Sec Jumps Supported - All Android versions supported
That's all for now! Shoot me an EveMail with any feedback and suggestions.

Edited by: Culmen on 13/01/2011 02:02:56 Interesting concept. Perhaps adding in support for Jump Freighter work would be nice. Just key in the fuel required + number of mid points.
I haven't taken a courier contract through a low/nullsec gate in ages. and further more why do i even need a sig? |

Great idea! I'll definitely consider it. I just gotta figure out implementation. How did you want to see that implemented?

Looks very nice!
Moved from 'EVE General Discussion' to a more relevant forum, though.

Nice idea, but can't the logic of the calculator be wrapped up in a DLL for inclusion in loads of projects instead of just on the Android platform?
Also, I see from the screen shot that you are factoring in the number of WH jumps. You can't create a contract to a WH. WH corps do their own hauling to the nearest highsec system usually and then let courier contract/RF kick in and take the loot the rest of the way.
Really nice work though. Signature removed for not being EVE related. Zymurgist |

I could possibly make that happen. What platform do you use?

I'm sure it could, but I'm using Android to start since that's the phone I have. I *would* make an iPhone app, but don't feel like sucking Steve Job's you-know-what just to get a developer's license.
The reason why I implemented the WH jumps is if the package needed to be brought into a WH, but that's great feedback. Not everyone does courier contracts the same way so that's great to know. Please keep up the feedback and thank you for your comments!

I'm thinking about releasing a High-Sec version and a Null-Low Sec version. Thoughts? In your eyes, what do you think should go in a Courier Contract Calculator?
Also, I could use some help with the EVE Api and doing jump planning. Anyone have any code to share or point me in the right direction to calculate the number of jumps and ascertain the security status of each one? I'd love to get as detailed information as DotLan, but I'm a little stumped. Wish they had an API to access.

I've noticed more and more are downloading the app every day. I'm glad you all are enjoying it. I haven't had much time to work on it, but keep the feedback coming and I will try and incorporate as much as possible in the next release. |
