So if you go, right now, no test server, your current eve client, open your wallet, go under journal, click the ref.type drop down, scroll down and you will find "Modifiy uPLEX".
Now "u" can mean many things, but one of them refers to a Greek letter used today as a prefix, micro.
Micro is a bad word when it comes to MMOs. Players like big swords, big ships, big guns, big everything. Its the same with our transactions. We like them relatively big, monthly, perhaps even yearly occurrences. We don't want them to be micro. But let us get back to the topic at hand
so uPLEX is micro-PLEX. Obviously some form of fragmented plex credit, to use for microtransactions. This is not a troll, this is in the game right now (though apparently only in-place, and unused). As a long time eve player I find this very interesting. You see it took ages for CCP to fix rockets, and that only required changing a constant, or two. But Noah gave us a very good reason for the change taking so long. See in a business you must distribute resources, and why would you fix rockets, if nobody is using them. how a lead game developer can fail to see the circular logic in that is beyond me... but let us get back to those uPlexes. So if it takes ages for CCP to do something, how the hell did they manage to get that code in so quickly?
Is it that they do a lot of research before they implement something? No, that cant be it. Because nobody doing any research would think microtransactions are a good idea for their game. Especially for the type of game eve is. I guess there is some other reason then...I wonder what it is.
I have to ask CCP. Why do you insist on pushing this on a playerbase that clearly does not want it? Why do you think this would be good for OUR game?
I have to ask, how can the developers of such a legendary game, with such an awesome history of being for the gamers-by the gamers, lose touch with the playerbase and actually think that microtransactions would be a good idea?
I could write on, but sadly after a while the forums stop you. they tell you that there is no point in writing such a long post. That there is no point in explaining how reputation is crucial to a game which sells through the word of mouth, and how just hinting at microtransactions can do loads of damage.
I gotta ask CCP, why? what happened to you? Can we get you back?

I know, hence the post. It should not be coming for any type of items.
I also thing it is interesting that CCP can do things very quickly when they want.

I really wish that this convention would just go and die somewhere. Is it really that hard to write ¦? Everything can handle unicode these days, and if it can't, it needs to die as well, so there's really no need whatsoever to use anything except the right symbolà

probably should have phrased it better, but that actually meant "no test server" as on tranquillity, NOT sisi. As in, on the live server right now.

Quickly? MT has been in the works for a long time.
Listen...I get it...CCP isn't prioritizing things the way you want them to. Fine. But MT is not just the wave of the future. If anything, CCP is WAY behind in implementing it.
It is what it is. All you can do is keep harping on the problem you want fixed and hope for the best.

show me on the US keyboard layout the option to write ¦.. On the DE keyboard (the only other I have for comparison) you got it with [Alt]+[Ctrl]+[M]. support Public Idea Tracker | 24hr PLEX |

If you're doing it on the web, use μ or µ (depending on what you mean and on how anal you are about semantics). If you're writing it in a document, use auto-replace and/or insert symbol. If you're using OSX, use the glyph/character palette (⌥⌘T). ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Actually it's just [Alt Gr]+[M] on the DE keyboard. And it's not inconceivable, but makes somewhat sense to have the prefixes for 10^-6 available easier, as all the other prefixes are available

Inheritance is the category that the 2,000 ISK you start the game with comes under, just FYI.

Wouldn't it be reasonable to assume this is just a tiny bit implemented for testing, and left there 'just in case' ?
Who knows, maybe someday they'll add custom paint jobs to ships. Those feel like they could cost a small part of a plex. (curse you CCP if you dare put the price of a whole plex on it!)

How about this?
- a night elf, dwarf...etc. costume to draw in Wow fans - a wand (also for WoW fans or perhaps Harry Potter fans) - sparkly skin effect (for sparkly vampire fans) also fangs - dance moves for 'dancing in stations' such as the macarena or Michael Jackson moves - Hair dressing salon, in order to change your hairstyle after the BieberHair look is no longer 'cool' (seriously, almost all of the newly created characters that I've seen, either in pictures or youtube videos seem to have Justin Bieber's hair) - Player 'crafted' in-game useless items that will be for sale, just like in second life - Own your own asteroid - rented apartments in stations that you customize and host virtual parties - station nightclubs with virtual drinks and virtual flower ladies selling virtual roses - station spa, to get a virtual massage and facial - blue skin and yellow eyes effect for Avatar fans - Alien skull (from the movie 'alien') that you can put up on the wall of your virtual apartment - skinny jeans and scratchy scarves for emo players and greasy/oily hair effect that covers half of the face
and lastly,
- spray-on tan skin effect that needs to be reapplied regularly or it will fade (for skinka girls or Jersey Shore fans)

I think microtransactions for vanity items is a great idea. If anything people with rl money to burn might spend it on those instead of cashing in plex for stuff that actually effects the game (i.e. isk). So long as ccp stays strong and doesn't allow microtransactions for things that actually do matter.
