I have some concerns and some virtual handshakes to hand out :
The handshakes go to the people who thought of and designed then implemented the new windows 7 style task bar. This is gorgeous to look at and the functionality is beautiful a definite +1
My concerns are that the new PI changes are good as well as bad :
GOOD :)
- New PI looks and feels alot more modern and smooth, a very sweet update
BAD :(
- Having to potentially delete and reinstall ECUs to a different part of the planet to get maxmimum output [on the white bits of the survey] is going to cost even more money.
- You have taken away the time it takes to restart all the extractors away. This is fantastic, but at the same time you've replaced that time saved with another form of time wasting. Which is re-moving the extractor heads after each cycle is finished
- From what I am seeing you cannot extract the same amount of p0 on SiSi than on TQ right now without have elite CCs. No longer can you have 19 extractors and 2 launchpads with advanced CCs because of the new power limitations. Therefore a long skill time is needed to use elite CCs in order to have the same type of colonies your used to working with
Although same planet production might be better [from what I've read] Alot of EVE player do not use same planet production because numbers are too low. Some of us are mass producers who make PI there "main" income.
CCP why have you changed extraction output from planets to a much lower number on the EXACT same planet.
TQ now : 19 extractors, 2 launchpads, 1 Adv CC, average extraction on 1 x 5 hour cycle = 1 million base metals
SiSi now : 18 extracters [1 less due to power limitations], 2 launchpads, 2 ECUs, 1 Adv CC, average extraction on 1 x 5 hour cycle = 750,000 Base metals
This is very disappionting and really would like a DEV to give some answers to the many PI based forum topics with all of them literally begging for some answers onto these very issues.
We are being kept in the dark.

Yes? A classic cost-benefit choice: will moving the ECUs make you more money than just shifting the pins around?

The problem wasn't time waste ù it was the mindless clickfest. Now it's a mindful dragfest instead.
I don't think the idea ever was to reduce the amount of work, but to make it more interactive.

You can, mainly because you don't need the same amount of extractors to get the same output ù you just need to be clever with the programs and the extraction areas. The first thing you need to do is stop thinking of the extraction programs as being the same as the old extraction cycle lengthsà ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

One thing I always found wierd is that we always have to tell the extractors to start extracting... I mean, it's like the colonists are sitting on their arse first chance they get when the "boss" (us) is not looking!
I like the new system better than the last, but i think that the pins we place should always be extracting unless we tell them to stop. Then in order to maximize the outcome we will have to (just as we do now) move the pins around to find new areas with more resources, and the longer the pin stays in the same place, the less it will produce...
I guess what I'm trying to say is we shouldn't need to tell the extractors to start extracting, they should be doing that all the time, all we should have to do is to check in once every day to move the pins to more profitable locations in order to keep up a good amount of extracted materials...

With great thanks to Tippia she has now made me realise the errors of my ways.
