I'm sorry if this has been acked a million times.. I could find an answer.
I was wondering some things about concord aggression.
If I shoot someone in high sec concord will try to kill me. If I jump out of my ship before they do they wont pod me, or attack my empty ship right?
What would happen if I had an alt pick up my ship in an orca?
Will they kill my orca?
Can anyone kill my pod legally? can my pod dock anywhere?

They will destroy your empty ship if you eject.
Your ship will always be destroyed if Concord is called in, any game mechanics used to avoid this are considered an exploit so don't even bother tying to game the system. |

This is correct. Any attempt to thawrt concord can lead to Eula Banhammer WTFpawning you from the game

If you dock it in an Orca, I don't know, you may be able to get away with it, you may not. You may not even be able to dock. Get one and find out. What's the worst that can happen?

If you go GCC and quickly store your ship in a neutral Orca then... nothing happens. You have saved your ship from being CONCORDed (for some reason, nothing has been done about this little "trick"... yet).
I must add that if someone knows about this "trick" and petitions you then you can expect a very quick ban for "evading" CONCORD. _______________________

You don't. You can't jump into a wormhole to escape a GCC in highsec. Believe me, I've tried.

My question is:
Why wtf would you try to attack someone with a Orca???? There are no limits to the majestic future which lies before the mighty expanse of Canada with its virile, aspiring, cultured, and generous-hearted people. Sir Winston Churchill |

I wouldn't be attacking in an orca. I was thinking of making a glass cannon ship to kill a macro miner or something, then the second its dead exit ship and scoop it with my orca alt.
As for the exploit stuff. What if I saw someone attack another player then exit ship and stole their ship in my orca, thats not me evading concord. So why would it be different if both characters involved were alts of mine?

You are searching for ways around the EULA, exploiting.
If petitioned, enjoy your ban, you deserve it.

Hey now, no need to be mean to me.
This isn't something I've ever done. I was just wondering about legality of these type of actions.(It'd be nice for a CCP reply, but that might be asking too much)
If I saw someone attack someone else in high sec and jump ship.. and I stole it, this would be fine, but doing so with an alt would be evading concord and getting around the CCP's rules.
I will accept this. I just wanted to be sure that if such an occasion arised where I could steal any ship I wouldn't get my orca concorded if they had GCC and I was unaware.

You can not store ship in orca if concord or faction navy is chacing you , it may be possible to eject and scoop it ( i have not tried ) but do you have time to do it befoce concorde kills you is an another question and even if it is possible it might be an exploit.

CONCORD used to kill all empty ships on the grid, to prevent people saving their ships by ejecting. This meant it was possible to intentionally get CONCORDed and eject to have them destroy ships parked at POSes.
Im am unsure if this is still the case, although I shall be enjoy testing it.

Edited by: Orion Teller on 20/01/2011 06:36:45 Similarly, if you have kill rights on someone and are in the middle of combat, they can swap out their ship in a neutral orca and maintain original agression.
So that Worm just turned into a Tengu and your ratting Raven can't do much about that.

Edited by: Rayaghuma on 20/01/2011 07:40:25 1st. Im not a PvPer in EVE yet, but in almost every other game. I dont get it, why should it a banable violation of the EULA to avoid the the police forces (thats what CONCORD is). If you use an exploit, then ok, but if you use a good tactic and get covered by others (be it an Orca that hides you in the hangar or a criminal gang that keeps you alive, if that is possible) then there is no reason to ban someone. Even criminals should have a slightly chance to get away with their crime, even when its less than 1%

Because it's CCP's rules and they don't like people getting around their rules?
The idea behind CONCORD is that they punish people for whatever combat-related transgression they commit. You want to do the deed, then you must accept the consequences (loss of ship and loss of sec-status). This has created a "balance" of sorts as the pirates can still suicide gank potentially profitable targets while keeping punishments harsh enough to discourage [the majority of] people from making it a habit (life becomes difficult and/or expensive when you can't enter high-sec to buy and get things).
It's not an ideal arrangement for anyone (as evidenced by carebears AND pirates occasionally raging from time to time)... but again... it's CCP's game and THEY make the rules.
Also... History Lesson:
Back in the "old days" it was entirely possible for people to tank CONCORD. The result was people forming up large RR gangs and wholesale killing newbies and carebears. A good [infamous] example of this was where a bunch of pirates were camping a stargate chokepoint, killing everything and everyone that came along, including a few groups that tried to dislodge them (they were that big and well organized).
Eventually, enough people whined and reported these pirates that a GM came in and told them to "break it up." The pirates gave the GM the finger and continued as they were. The GM then teleported and scattered all the pirates into null-sec (it was still relatively unpopulated at the time) and left them to fend for themselves.
CCP realized that as EvE become more populated more incidents like this would occur. And that wouldn't be good for business. So they buffed CONCORD. People stepped up their tactics and still found ways to keep CONCORD at bay. People continued to rage. CONCORD was buffed again and you have the system as it is now. _______________________

No.
IF there was a chance to get away with a criminal action, these "tactics" would be the only one used, rendering concord useless, leaving the only loss to the victim of said criminal action.
Try again.
Edit: Damn, above poster beat me to it, describing it better.

The rules in high sec is if you gcc on a neutral, you're gonna get busted up by Concord. This gives newbies breathing room to develop before they decide to step out into lowsec/null if ever. It's common sense; would you have continued playing eve if a gang were camping every gate in high sec and popping everything they saw with nothing to stop them? No, you'd have quit the game in a few days. Think of High sec as a starting point, safe for new players to grow, safe enough for everything else. Of course High Sec isn't absolutely safe (ie suicide ganks).
Now, if you find some way to circumnavigate gcc'ing on someone in high sec and getting away with it, it pretty much opens the flood gates on everything that's been built up. Sooner or later, you'll have everyone and their dogs evading concord, then what's the point of high sec at all?
