Please could you give me a suggested fit for a Triage Chimera. Its only purpose is to keep a super cap alive then die. A true sacrificial lamb. It will need to use armour reps.
Must be as cap stable as possible.

using the only carrier without armor rep range bonus? I see in my crystal ball a misfortune awaits you, beware of bumps! |

Edited by: Mike712 on 17/01/2011 21:47:49 There is a bit of a catch 22 situation with shield tanking triage carriers.
You need as much cap as possible and for that you must fit cap power relays, but since you can't receive remote support in triage you need a strong local tank, but a local shield tank is badly gimped by CPRs and therein lies your problem.
I guess if you just wanted to rep a super as quickly as possible you could just go with some resists for tank.

But I think missiles really need a buff. We can see That drake only has 600 dps and 90K ehp compared to the myrmidon which has 900 dps and 180K EHP
Thats why i think, needs at least a +50% damage boost, and maybe a 100% boost to ehp.
This way the game is more balanced
derp moment? i almost lol'd at that. random topic change It is impossible to pod Chuck Norris. |

Just train Amarr Carrier to 1 and you'll have a far better ship for what you want to do. |

oh, I'm sure he got the then die part covered, it's the keep a super cap alive part that is at risk with reps only reaching 15km |

Not really since CPRs shield boost penalty is stacking nerfed, so it is not that bad. Which is also why shield tanked thannies for triage arent that weird.
That said, if you are suicide triaging on supercaps, who cares about local tank? If they got the dps to kill the super within 15 minutes they surely got the dps to kill your triage carrier alot faster than it can rep with local reps.

Indeed the CPR's don't nerf your local tank nearly as much as you'd think. I shield tank my triage nidhoggurs and it works amazingly well. It works so well in fact that I consider it superior in every possible way to the much more popular archon. It RR's better, has more local tank, has equal or better cap recharge (depends on how much local tank you want) and can RR both shields and armor effectively. It also has slightly better scan resolution and a much higher top speed for whatever that's worth. And it is worth noting I fly both the nidhoggur and archon, the niddy really is the better boat for triage. Outside of triage is another matter, but in triage the niddy is best.
I know this is a little OT and tbh I can't really help with a chimera fit for your task. I think you are trying force it to do something it can't do effectively. It's like trying to use a basilisk in an armor gang. It will just end badly for you and your buddies. Either train a different race of carriers or focus on keeping shield tanked ships alive. Instead of trying to keep the SC's alive, why don't you keep the 500,000 drakes with you alive instead. I'm sure they'd appreciate it. And tbh keeping the support fleet a live is a great way to keep your bigger stuff alive. Let someone in a better suited ship worry about the armor tanked ships.
Thus far you shall read, but no further; for this is my sig. |
