Ive tried patching a few times.
Each time I am met with "appears files are corrupt" and it then wants to run the eve repair tool, I allow it and it runs a constant loop of installing missing data, various sized files, over and over.
I uninstalled and deleted everything and redownloaded full client and still same issue. I've let the repair tool run for 2 hours and it just kept going. I'm stopping for now.
Seems quite a few people have had a similar problem with the corrupt file/repair tool. ive even seen someone mention download almost 1Gb of "missing data"
If anyone else is having this same error at least post that you are experiencing it as well so CCP sees that its a recurring issue.

post your computer specs as well if you have this issue so CCP can see any patterns in operating systems or whatever.

same issue
e8600 4gb win7 x64 gts 250
I've tried patching multiple times all resulting in failure. I've tried clean installing the entire client too both "online mode" (fail) and downloaded the whole package as well to try and do it that way... which was also a failure (checksum mismatch) The sky was blue but there was no god. |

Also tried patching many times, manually and automatically. Trying to apply the patch I downloaded as an exe from ccp's site gave me an error that the build I currently have was the one I was trying to update to. Repair tool and game exes are broken. All I can do at this point is reinstall and hope for the best.
Needs fix asap.
Running on XP 32 bit, i7 quad, 4 g ram, ati 4850, off a single physical hd with plenty of space and other apps, recently defragged and properly formatted.

Edited by: Kyle Semones on 18/01/2011 22:54:38 I have no idea if this is why,
but i went to my download folder and opened properties on the eve_premium_setup_221279.exe and checked the box to run as administrator and i had an option to "unblock" so i unblocked. the repair tool ran for about 3 minutes and now its beginning to install
(note - i uninstalled and re-downloaded the entire game.)
EDIT ::
whatever the **** i did it has started to work. the client installed and im at the character creation screen currently. hope it helps someone else...

Edited by: Tuttomenui II on 19/01/2011 07:42:12 I got this when trying to run the client when I came back to see if it finished downloading and installing the patch:
Quote: Your EVE client installation may have modified, damaged or corrupt files. Please run repair.exe located in the EVE game Directory or reinstall the game client. Bad manifest signiture, timestamp "2011.01.11 09:50:16", expected "2009.09.29 09:16:15"
Then I run the repair.exe and get this:

I will read more in this thread see if someone fixed this issue without reinstalling client. will take 2 hours for me to download the patch again, hate to think how long the full client would take to download.

the problem is for me too. but it seems the repair tool itself has hung and is doing nothing but wasting time. it checked everything.
3.8 gig later.... its still sitting there. now what? do i close it and hope for the best or do i ask for my account to be cancelled and come back on the day CCP is under new management?
i cant afford to sopend my time ****ing around with these blasted patches downloading and re dowloading. i cant afford these blasted 3 or 4 gig mistakes!

Spent all night download (250Kbp/s download speed "5h1tty BT ISP") to get hit with exactly the same repeating repair tool on a fresh install (thanks alot CCP) Now i wiped everything and just found this post ( TO CCP - Fix your repair tool OR create a post i.e. sticky outlining to delete the .ini file before repair tool runs).

Got the same issue with corrupt files and useless repair tool. I decided to try reinstalling the whole client and repatch it. Should be done patching in a couple of hours, hopefully I can make it work this time.

Guys having same issue as me, Try rebooting your machine. I didn't even have to reinstall the patch, I deleted the commons.ini got the repair to run, but it failed. then I rebooted my machine and the client started working. The file corruption could be caused by files that need to be deleted but its waiting for a reboot to reflect the changes.

For me, it continually cycles between downloading checksums and restoring file. It's been at it for hours and I have no idea what to do.

I'm having mahoosive problems with the Singularity client due to corruption issues too. I have tried the Online and Offline installer, both corrupt, ran the repair tool several times - this fails late on in the process every time. Things are at a low ebb, I'm running out of things to try. I looked for the common.ini file that was in the Eve folder, but of course the Eve folder was empty due to not installing correctly. I even reinstalled the OS to make it all fresh - that also didn't solve the problem. I have also tried using 'FDM' (Free Download Manager)AND turned off the net security during download due to the fact that FDM has a resume function just in case of unexpected errors occurring and to possibly avoid the problem of firewalls etc stopping/corrupting the flow - all to no avail. I'm really pi55ed at why this is all happening since the Incursion addition, I know Eve runs on my System cos I was playing it last night fine enough.
REALLY don't want to sound like I'm ranting but this is nucking futs! What good is the repair tool? What's this cause of corruption? My Corp needs me and I'm totally powerless until I find a resolution, don't want 4.5 years going down the pan.. not now it's just getting exciting!
Any further help would be greatly appreciated, somebody?.. anybody!

I'm having the exact same issues with mine, after downloading both clients several times i'm no closer to figuring out what the root cause is. Luckily this morning i received a responce from support so i will keep you posted as to what they do to rectify the issue.

Edited by: Taurolas on 08/03/2011 07:32:34 Edited by: Taurolas on 08/03/2011 07:28:50 @ Iphiclus.. sorry this is long winded
re-tried the client again same issues checked in my-docs/settings etc for any eve related material and deleted it... rebooted comp turned off both antivirus + network + all other progs not required in task manager, ran the offline eve client this again failed crc at the end but i was left with a client.7z file so do a quick search for *.7z file and you might have one after the crc corrupt failures, rebooted comp again turning off antivirus / network and all other progs not needed in task manager like itunes etc unpacked the client.7z file that i found with 7-zip, which also said is was corrupted (several Ogg files and something else i dont recall) but it did unnpack everything. searched for the repair.exe file, enabled the network (dont turn on antivirus) and run the exe it will probably say newer version available download and let it repair, it should then say ok. Run the eve.exe and it should then say incursion patch etc download and when complete, reboot the comp with all all your usual progs running inc antivirus etc and you should now have a client that works. i did a copy of mine after patching just incase. mine now runs, Hope that helps.
