This expansion was 45% new PvE option that the game DESPERATELY needed (incursions), 45% character creator which is setting the game up for Incarna (something that many players and prospective players look forward to a LOT, I for one may rarely ever come out of stations ever again), and then 10% fixes/rebalancing/polishing to current features.
Considering incursions haven't really started yet, I won't try and comment on the expansion as a whole since I haven't experienced it as a whole, but this expansion so far is NO WHERE NEAR as "underwhelming" and "awful" as people in this thread are making it out to be.
Also, if you hate the character creator/incarna so much, as many of you ******s have said before when referring to someone else's preferred method of gameplay, "GTFO my sandbox".

...I've never played a game for 10$ a month. Every single one I've played that has a sub is 15$ a month...
Just sayin', Eve is not that expensive when compared to paying 40 or 50$ for an expansion in WoW while still paying the 15$ a month...

You just don't pay an additional fee for the expansions in EVE.
*Ponders* GW is a bit of a different thing, though. It's not really a persistent world. I have to wonder how exactly they run GW in terms of servers and stuff, but I don't think you can really compare it to other more traditional MMO's with full-on persistent worlds, like Eve. I highly doubt that the structure of how it's run server-side is even similar at all.
Not saying GW is bad, but it's just different....

Every single solar system is an instance, be it not in the traditional "dungeon" sense. I don't say it's good or bad, but like dungeons, you can¦t see or do acts that influence anything beyond your `instance`. It¦s not really `seemless` that if I launch missiles they end up in another system.
Still, OT, expansions in EVE cost no additional fee!
none of that means they work the same way server-side, and hence none of it means that their payment systems are comparable to each other.

I fully agree with that!
It actually surprised me that (almost) all those games have exactly the same fee while costs may vary a lot per game.
Indeed... *Ponder*
I give, I dunno. Probably has more to do with economics and prices you can get away with rather than the actual costs of running the game. |

Only to access the game... most MMO's require you buy the expansion and then pay the 15$ a month to access the game... just sayin' |
