Too easy to escape some consequences, that is.
Thinking about some of the login news reports that I've seen, I suggest some new messages be added, and be displayed to the user at the appropriate time, which is hopefully obvious by the content of the messages:
1) "Your pod is too intricately connected to your starship to allow you to eject in the middle of combat."
* particularly for T3 ships, so the destruction of the ship will absolutely mean loss of skill points.
2) "The self-destruct system is offline due to combat."
3) "You have recently engaged in combat, and must wait for the self-destruct system to be reactivated. Scotty, the demolitions engineer, estimates the self-destruct system will be reactivated in 5 minutes."

Right. Cause you can alpha a cap ship before it can self destruct.
I'm trying to enforce ships being in killmails, even if it's an embarrassing capital ship loss and prevent things such as what happened in the recent FW carrier hotdrop.

So ask for self destructs to generate killmails then, and all participants get a copy.

I'd rather not give away free intel on what's in my head. If I had my way killmails wouldn't include this either. I would however have ship/pod scanners give you all the intel you want, just not for free. ------------------------------ God is an afk cloaker |

a popped ship is a popped ship. Pilot down a ship, corp/alliance/pilots needs to spend isk to replace. Enjoy that aspect and move on.
the cure for km ho dependency...fly logistics sometimes. If you do your job right and don't die in the course of the op you will be one busy pilot. People on the op will remember you or you hope they do anyway. If you don't die...no record of you ever being there since no km's for you.
Moar dps solves most problems. Eve is like fishing, you don't go fishing for marlin with 25 lb test meant for tuna .

Basically what your suggesting is one in the same, anyway its not free... You have to kill them first to get it...
If you do that in low sec that means a fairly large sec status hit. which means if you want to enter high sec you got quite a bit of grinding to do...
