Every time I try to retrieve the Character Wallet Journal data via the API, I get the following message:
Quote:
<eveapi version="2"> <currentTime>2011-01-23 00:38:22</currentTime> <error code="0"> General Error: Scotty the docking manager heard you were talking **** about him behind his back and refuses to service your request. </error> <cachedUntil>2011-01-23 01:38:22</cachedUntil> </eveapi>
(Profanity is the API's, not mine)
I am passing in (tried via both POST and GET) the CharacterID, the AccountID, and the FULL API Key. As there is no explanation of what has gone wrong, or any useful error code, I am now at a loss. I have tried reordering and renaming the form fields in various cases with no luck at all.
Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? It's probably something stupid I'm overlooking but I can't find documentation anywhere about this error.
Cheers! -Kaal |

I've been trying again later for about two weeks now. I thought the wallet journal update from Incursion 1.1.1 might help, but no luck.
Is there any way to find out WHAT the server's error is? Error code 0 and some smack talk from Scotty doesn't help in the slightest.
Edit: It might be of useful note, that when I echo the URL for GET submission and paste it in, there is no problem and I get the XML file I need back. When the script submits it I get the error. -Kaal |

Not much of a leap of imagination to figure that your script is the problem then, is it? |

Your doing something it doesn't like then. May try posting a bit of your code. |

That is not a terribly useful answer.
I see the same error as well, but only on some characters, starting today. And I see the exact same data inside the script as I get when posting the entire API url to the http://api.eve-online.com/char/CharacterSheet.xml.aspx page into a browser.

The difference is the guy I was responding to didn't get an error in his browser. As to the error message, I guess it replaced the 'General Error appears from the North and in a booming voice commands you to "Please try again later!"' one, which I always liked. It usually indicated an issue with the API server, not with your request. |

Ok, I get it.
Still, I wonder why it's only one of my three chars that have this problem. Even the other alts on the same account are fine. |

Might be whatever differences there are between your chars like skills, etc. are finding a bug in the APIs that happens once in a while.
