Edited by: Major JSilva on 25/01/2011 06:10:51 This is not a resignation, I never really held a position in SYNE. This not some elaborate messgae of the end. This is a loss in confidence in SYNE not its members who continue to provide intelligence and ship to the fight against Nation. Its leadership, not its fleet commander sor those who analyse our data. For the past couple months since the triple incursion in Monolaz aka "Op Trinity Vanguard" I've recieved multiple complaints and reports keep leading back to oen subject in particular. One Julianus Soter.
After two weeks of thinking I have reaching this conclusion which many people have told me but I want my own opinions to formed with the evidence I'm given. Mr. Soter is and will continue one of the core problems to fighting Nation though he did help organize the existing structure today it reorganization is needed more than ever. ISHAEKA reports are useful but there data is now irrelevant to recent events. This battle is more about his ego then it simplest core goal defeat nation and stop Kuvakei and he will be stopped.
As of now I am neutral. I won't go out of my way to help stop Incursions unless I'm paid or they come near where I live.
I have stated the primary problem and I'll let you guess how to fix it.

I do hope your employment prospects improve Mr. Silva. It is a shame you no longer consider the Sansha to be a threat worth working together to fight, though I'm sure your newly acquired free time will enable you to find more lucrative work with the Caldari Navy agent bureau.
To clarify to those that aren't sure what Mr. Silva is talking about, there is no 'organization' to be restructured. Neither I, nor any other indivual, has any leadership authority in relation to fighting the Sansha. Myself, Commander Baxter, Ninavask, HavvieG, Wedgetail, and numerous other committed and competent compatriots help disseminate information, conduct fleet command when required, and generally maintain essential lines of communication with SYNEPublic and other channels.
Perhaps it is because I have not declared myself "executor" of a massive alliance, personally marshaled the mighty forces of the Empires, and invaded Stain in some vainglorious attempt at posterity that you have lost confidence? Or is it that I should have simply withdrawn from public life totally, and let the channels ramble and turn to chaos? Should I have disbanded my corporation to give my undivided attention to moderating FTL communications channels?
What is it that you have lost confidence in, anyway Mr. Silva? I'm still waiting for you to make your point.
Regardless, we are still here, and we shall continue to do what is necessary.

One of the primary reasons I left the accord early on was for the same reason. Soter's ego makes doing anything almost impossible within that structure.

Myxx I've seen your work first hand. It wouldn't surprise me.
Soter There are many instances where you failed to make key decisions at critical points in Operations. Though you have not "claimed" to be the executor of any alliance the image you portrial is one vastly different but you are to blind to realize it.
Our enemy may not have the numbers to match SYNE's fleets but do not underestimate them they are smart and they have cleverly used this to there advantage.
Your ego has led to derailing of key movements, certain intelligence vetted by internal members in your so called secure channel in which a nation loyalist by the name of Degen Sankriga was able to enter. And working for the Caldari Navy honestly despite me working for them in my pre-capsuleer career I'm currently awaiting to join anew corporation. You'll see that my pods transponder pings back to New Caldari, ever stopped to think that I live there.

Mm, thats about right. Except thats not all.
Your little fight with Seri all those months ago spawned something, Soter. Time and again, your ego proves me correct.

Soter, I'm a relatively new capsuleer, and newer still to the fight against the Sansha. I don't know you as others might, and the only reason our paths have crossed ever so tenuously is because of our shared desire to defeat Sansha Kuvakei and his minions. There are no grudges, no arguments between us. With that said, please consider the fact that a man who was mere hours ago a staunch ally in that effort has declared his intention to abandon it, and named you as a cause. And from what he and others have said, he is not the only one with complaints. I believe it would be for the good of the effort against the Sansha if you took a less visible and public role in assisting that effort, or at least made an effort to listen to the complaints others have about your behavior and make attempts at reconciliation. Otherwise I fear that the disunity of our resistance will prove to be our doom, as Sansha Kuvakei pointed out two days ago in Yulai:
Quote: [ 113.01.23 21:03:58 ] Master Kuvakei > Do you see how confused you are? How you squabble and bicker. How there is no unity to your voice? [ 113.01.23 21:04:13 ] Master Kuvakei > All shouting, none listening. [ 113.01.23 21:05:32 ] Master Kuvakei > For your sake, I hope your fleet is better prepared than your voices.

Edited by: Brawyn78 on 25/01/2011 07:53:10 I can appreciate the difficulty here ... and I think the core issue is the complete lack of organization. We have one very small player run corporation in charge of one public channel that has become a de facto clearing house for information about the Sansha Incursions. I'm a little surprised that Empire and CONCORD officials chose to endorse this setup by having their employees use this channel instead of jointly forming an official Incursions channel. I hope that with the Incursions becoming more regular, widespread, and dangerous that the Empires and CONCORD will now jointly form an official channel ((perhaps moderated like the official help channel by ISDs)).

First off, Major, let me say im sad to see you go. You we're one of the best helps I've seen in organizing the people against the Sansha, and Im honestly sad to see you go.
That said...I don't blame you. Not one bit.
Soter, You DO act as if you are the lord and master of this damned Unoffical Alliance, even removing people from SYNEpublic NOT because they were nation Sympathysers, but because YOU felt they were useless. One of these people, you even removed and only let back in because EVERY DAMN PERSON in that channel was yelling at you to. And even then..you almost diden't. Because YOU felt she was insane and useless when it was proven time and time again she was helping.
Soter, I have seen you denounce and tell people to ignore a MINMITAR NAVY offical who was positive of the key significance of a number pattern. She kept trying to point this out, and you constantly shouted her down, telling people to ignore it as they were in your eyes, useless.
You have done much to help but damnit if you don't seem like you're trying to do just as much to damage these days, and If you keep this damn thing up all you're going to do is let Kuvakei win without needing to fire a shot because the rest of us will be to busy bickering amungst ourselves.
Try to keep yourself in Check a bit better for everyones sake...though I doubt you'll do more then dismiss me as useless and possibly idiotic.

It seems to me that Julianus has no ability to stop any of you from establishing your own intel or communication networks. From what I've seen there is no lack of bickering and indecision among the capsuleers who participate SYNE's public comm network regardless of the presence of any individual at any particular time. It is telling that the level of vitriol tends to increase every time morale falls in the aftermath of Sansha gains. Dissapointment tends to seek scapegoats.
Each of us has the free will to follow our own path. Those who are dedicated to defeating Nation will continue to fight, and some will shrink from the challenge ahead. We've seen some flee in fear to Kuvekei already. I'll continue to defy Sansha, regardless of the timidity or divisiveness of others.

Just some interesting points of data to stir the pot a bit. Myxx banned 58 capsuleers, corporations, and alliances, and she ceased to use the channel several months ago. I have banned 10 during the past seven months.
If at all possible, I attempt to accommodate everyone. It is a public channel. If there are any disputes or concerns with channel operation, you may contact myself, Cmdr Baxter, or other channel operators as listed in the MOTD.
Carry on.

Unfortunately, I was not able to engage the Sansha forces at Yulai. But I for one have heard numerous reports of SYNE's inefficacy in dealing with the menace.
I cannot corroborate nor deny anything that has been said here, except to say that there indeed seems to be an issue with leadership within FCORD/SYNE. I have on the other hand heard of the valiant efforts lead by Amarrian Loyalists such as Admiral Rodj Blake of PIE Inc. who took up the mantle of command after SYNE's fleet was ordered to evacuate the scene of the battle.
To those brave pilots who did not retreat in the face of danger, I offer my highest commendations for whatever it's worth. And should a replacement be decided upon for Julianus Soter, I would nominate Rodj Blake for his courage under fire, bravery, and initiative. PIE Inc. has been known since capsuleer's have taken to the heavens to initiate change, and exact noble leadership under adverse circumstances.

I was not present at the scene of the Yulai failure.
However Major Jsilva, as you are known to be a Caldari loyalist, and friend to your Amarrian allies, I would hope that you find a corporation suitable to your needs and desires.
I salute your bravery in standing up and speaking out with regard to your concerns. These are dire times, and reticence concerning matters of great import would surely prove detrimental to our efforts to repel the Sansha heretics. So I applaud your candor, and respectful demeanor.
Lastly, while I do not know the inner workings or circumstances concerning Julianus Soter, there is the issue of perception. If several people perceive a problem, then the situation ought to be analyzed. I would hope that Mr. Soter, (though a Gallente he is), is humble enough to recognize his own shortcomings, and would step down if it would be in the best interests of all.

Thank you for your kind words.
However, my other commitments mean that I would not be a suitable leader for such a disparate coalition.
Also, if I led at Promised Land, it was mainly through example as I wasn't in the same fleet with a large proportion of the pilots who responded to the call to arms. I hope that it was a good example though, despite our failure.

It is my personal observation that even though Julianus claims that there are no leaders in Synepublic in the classical sense of the word, in practice, he and others do fullfill that role, and in many instances I've witnessed the way in which he fullfills that role has led to inaction, or strong disagreement within Synepublic. Even if the result is unintended, it must still be recognised and respected as fact. It is no less than reasonable to assume that it is difficult for a man so involved in the subject matter as Soter, who has invested so much time and effort into making the defense against Nation work, to look upon the situation with an objective mind. But I do implore him to do so, and make changes as he sees fit. I hope the end result of that to be less arguing within the ranks of Synepublic, and more smooth organisation of the spreading of information and mounting defenses according to that information.

Major, while I understand your loss of confidence in Soter, please consider continuing your work against Nation. Soter is not the be-all, end-all of anti-Nation efforts, no matter what he believes.
I do believe your lack of confidence is justified. Soter has done such things as proclaiming his attacks on the State as being "for all mankind", a very interesting way of inferring that the destruction of the Caldari people is the best thing for mankind. He has repeatedly gloried in the death of Caldari rank and file. He has lead SYNE forces into ambushes and then blamed them for their losses. He has consistently subjected anyone who differs with him in the slightest to a continuing stream of invective and defamation - mark my words, pilot, you will be treated as a traitor by him, at least when you aren't there to defend yourself. And Soter has continually exhibited the most flagrant and overweening arrogance that has proved destructive both to his claimed cause and repellent to those who would otherwise aid him.
But these reasons are reasons to dislike Soter, not reasons to be neutral towards the Sansha. If you, indeed, do care about the State, the State is under attack by the Sansha. If you care about the people of the cluster, the cluster is under attack by the Sansha. And even if you only care for yourself, what sort of life do you think you shall have under Sansha's rule? You would be nothing but a puppet, and worse, a willing one.
Soter is not the anti-Sansha movement, much as he conflates himself with it. And losing confidence in a man is not a reason to hand the cluster over to the Sansha. Please consider continuing your fight. - - -

Soter's fate was already discussed... quite a while ago, if I might add.
The problem is this: who to replace him with?
I'd nominate Seri, but Seri wont work with the Caldari or Amarr. Then, I'd nominate Andreus, except Andreus is off playing with the ILF and Ishukone...

First off let me introduce my self to the IGS.
I've flown with Moira. for a while now, and I'll be the first to agree that Soter has a fairly large ego. He set up SYNE to try to coordinate the influx of new information and fleets to counter the early incursions, and like Soter previously stated, was not the only one in command of the channel. The failings of SYNE public did not come from Soter, but from its disorganised, multi-corp/agenda members. The channel in itself has provided the opportunity for other specialised corps (such as FCORD, I'm sure there are others) to form and effectively deal with the Sansha threat.
To Silva, "I won't go out of my way to help stop Incursions unless I'm paid", is just a cop-out. I hope we bump into each other in a quiet low-sec system soon.
