Harro! No trader is going to tell you anything that might help you cut into his profit margin.
If you do something else like pirating, or mission running, or pirating () people would be giving you all kinds of help and advice. The market however you have to work out for yourself, that means scouting regional markets ahead of buying and selling

The funny thing is, every industrialist/researcher/trader in EVE uses spreadsheets, but very few (if any) are willing to share theirs (you're not getting mine, for instance). Sharing would make too easy for competitors to step up.
Your best bet is to learn how the mechanics work, and create your own spreadsheet. The advantage of that is that you could build it to exactly suit your needs.

I'm not one that usually point out incredibly stupid questions but this time I have to.
This was an unusally stupid quesion OP. Why don't you ask for people's account passwords while you're at it?

Your best bet is to lurk in the Science & Industry forum. Every now and then an interesting tool comes along. You also want to check out the stickies there. EVE Central is your friend. ----- Malevolence. is recruiting. Dive into the world of 0.0 !

The best way to approach analysis of the Market is to use the Market itself. As other people already pointed out, nobody is going to give you a way to tap into their profits. The Market is always changing, prices are rising, crashing, being manipulated... You can't really depend on static information. Look at your wallet, decide whether you want to go for volume or a high profit margin. Either way, just a quick fly-by through the market can reveal decent differences in selling and buying orders, use the graphs to your advantage and thread your actions slowly.
Although it's hard, often boring and you'd rather mine in an asteroid belt at the end of the day, it's awesome... Especially that you don't experience physical damage to your ships, you can pump up your character skills and be part of stabilizing the market. And did I mention the awesome feeling when you make a high margin sale?
Try it and most of all, try to enjoy it! It's just a game after all!

Thanks for the encouragement to ask when one is not sure which direction to go in.

Aside from your terrific (stupid) spelling, where you thisinspirational to your fellow students when you were in school? If this was meant to be a hurtful response...then congratulations...you are in fine form.
Now that I am the "class idiot"...maybe for the the entire year...I might rethink my participation within this forum and the game. Again, thanks for the words of encouragement. Did you ever use a mirror?

But thanks to everyone else who took the time to reply and to make me aware of the difference in asking for tips to making a profit as opposed to blowing some opponent into their clone.

Don't mind them, sometimes the community in EVE can be harsh, but they generally mean well. If you need a quick trading 101, contact me ingame and we'll talk.

Thanks Tach. Will try to look you up when I am in game. My response was too quick...but the reply was insulting and hurtful...and has bugged me throughout the course of this day.
I went back and looked at my initial question, to see if it was on par with trying to get an unfair advantage on others.
I assumed that EMMA was a base tool, like EVEMOM, to be used as a guide to new players..."assumed" because I was unable to download it but it appeared that it was available to all players for a long period of time.
I probably have about 60 hours of actual time in the game and am still trying to grasp the basics within the different areas.
I guess that I should try to join a corp. But my limited time to play makes me feel I might handicap a group that depends on it's members. I play EVE to get an escape from the rest of my day.
thanks again

EMMA and Evemon are player-made tools, CCP provides nothing. As such, whatever's out there on the internet typically gets disabled every major patch, and you have to give the developers a couple weeks to come up with a new version that's compatible with whatever CCP changed.
Your best bet is to learn the basics on how the tool works. I don't use EMMA (and I don't trade that much), but for trading I find a solar system that's at the border between 2-3 regions, so that with one jump I can check prices in several places, and then I check for price differences for the typical stuff that sells a lot - minerals, the various popular mission ships, station fuels, ammo, missiles. These could have a bit of profit.
Then I check for the expensive stuff, because I do have a few hundred million I could invest, but for this you need to know what are the useful modules and what are the junk ones. But, Tech 2: various guns, armor or shield tank modules, capacitor recharge stuff - there may be price differences and a chance for profit between a trade hub and the various mission hubs, and also the solar systems that are a pipeline to 0.0 space.
It's a lot of work.
On the other hand, for station trading in Jita (or wherever), all you may need is to look at the price difference between buy and sell orders, and at the history graphs to figure out if the price is currently going up or going down, and go from there.

Two things ...
1) You really need to develop a thicker skin if you let some jibe by a player in this game get to you - as there are players in this game who simply live to make other players upset. Even if they do get to you - it's a mistake to let them know that - as they'll just chortle and try harder to hurt your feelings in the future.
2) There is a problem with any after market application - and that is - that these applications can be infected with some form of malware for the purpose of capturing your passwords by recording your key strokes and sending them back to the owner so he can hack your account. So - if you are going to use an aftermarket tool - make sure to get it from a reputable source. Usually these tools have a primary distribution point - use one from there - not from somewhere else. Also - make sure you have a good - up to date - Virus Scanner and scan anything you download from anywhere - even a reputable source.
... once upon a time ... I had one of the security guys from work give me a disk to use to scan my computer for viruses. I already had a better one ... but we were required to use this one ... but - before I used it - I stopped and rethought about my mantra - scan ANYTHING you get form ANY source. I scanned his virus tool with my virus tool ... and found out that in the course of making his rounds with that disk - IT had picked up a virus ... *shrug* ... soooo ... you can't be to careful ...
A useful thing to do is to get familiar with the EVE User Guide and the Stickies at the tops of the various forums (most of which seem to be migrating to the User Guide). The biggest problem with the User Guide is there isn't much of a table of Contents. But the search function works well.
Here's the EVE User Guide on Market Resources.

What you want can be found somewhere in here http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Market_resources. I like the Eve Mentat and Navbot tools to analyze market orders and find profitable trade routes. Cheers |

Toshiro...thanks and you are right in your advice...but I have been thin skinned all of my 62+ years irregardless of the many attempts to "tank up" in that area...so I have no illusions that I will be successful in changing that part of my character. As is my "taste" for things in life, they will be mine from cradle to grave.
I was expecting "jibes" as you phrased it, in-game, but not in the forum, so it cut a bit deeper here. But for every "jibe" there seem to be numerous supportive replies also. So, I will again promise to do my best.
Thank you all, even the "jiber" for these wonderful lessons, both for the game and for my real life. As they say, "what doesn't kill me will only make me stronger."
I will play out my last 6 weeks or so and see how it feels at that time...whether to continue or not.
Have been playing with exploring the last couple of days while I get to read up on marketing and all the other numerous areas to learn.
Still having fun with it. And thanks again to Alotta for her (I assume it is a "her") biting, but gentle manner of "jibing" me for my naive approach to solving some of the things I come up against here in EVE.
