Just so people are clear: These complaints have nothing to do with Incursions being "too hard". It's more about the insane mechanics that CCP added to them for whatever reason. The actual combat was challenging and forces people to think about fleet makeup, fleet bonuses, logistics, and target calling. But the control bar rate of decay is so messed up that you have to bring hundreds of people to a system to run concurrent sites or you risk spending hours killing NPCs without making any progress in defeating the actual incursion.
The site that requires you to split up and deal with two objectives would have been fine if it wasn't for the gate restrictions. If they simply must remain in game then add some mechanic that warns people so you don't end up like we did where the FC says jump, half the people jump into the site and the other half start yelling on comms because they couldn't jump. The guys that did manage to jump in are instantly overwhelmed, pointed and destroyed.
I didn't personally experience the sites requiring mining or hacking but it sounds like the hacking literally triples the amount of time it takes to complete the site. That is just bad design.

These incursions are also very horrible for my Tengu, since buffer is the primary necessity. Only way to get buffer on my tengu is to supersize my signature radius, losing the biggest part of my tank.
Well, just don't take part then. It's not like CCP are taking away anything you were doing before.
That, or petition CCP for the inclusion of a "WIN" button on the new UI. -----

Incursions take away 50% of rat bounty from the constellation they are in, they lower shield/armor resistances, and they lower DPS Sure, you can move to another constellation as long as you're not a 0.0 territory holder, but right now the spread rate of Incursion is probably not known to many players (myself included); What if 1/2 or 3/4 of the universe will be covered by Incursion more or less permanently? ---- <sig goes here> |

Odd. On the test server I was quite happily motoring in an ahac Zealot. True with no Guardian buddies a belt n' half and my buffer was gone but... well that's what parking under the station letting the repper work is for.

If it's still hard in a month, and not written up with step by step to-do guides on EVE Survival, then CCP will have done something pretty amazing. If it's relatively easy by then, then they should have made it harder.

But yeah, from the way this is looking, Incursion is shaping up to be what it well, was: a hastily planned and poorly executed "expansion" made for the purpose of giving us a token "Winter 2010, uhh, 11" expansion rather than making us wait for Incarna (which is clearly where all the effort is being dedicated).
CCP failed to take into account what happens in highsec with Concord, and they fail to take into account what will happen with a 0.0 alliance, particularly a small one, if they have their space overrun with one. I guarantee you the first time THAT happens, even if it's to one of the superpowers, there will be plausible evidence to accuse CCP employees of misusing it to punish an in game enemy or benefit their own in game interests, vis a vie T20 all over again.
They should just limit this crap to lowsec until it truly gets the proper attention that a lot of these half baked ideas (such as faction warfare) need to get in order to actually be done right.

I agree about the Control Bar, its completely unreasonable. At least make it so it only regenerates after a certain amount of time, call it reinforcements or something.

Not sure about the higher end sites but I can def confirm that assaults and vanguards are pretty easy with the suggested number of people if you set up properly. You don't even need an absurd number of SP, drakes work quite well. |
