I find most of these situations happen when you become overconfident (heheh) and sometimes you donÆt always escape. However, I have two memories of extreme escape that I think fit in here.
I was in my Scorp in a 0.4 system. After blowing up several of the local ôalliancesö battleships with most of them in local I wasnÆt too worried about warping in at 60km to a group of 4/5 BS with some frigs who had set out to kill me. I wanted to get them to aggress so that they were flagged and I could do what I want with them. They aggress and im losing shields, the frigates are approaching at the expected rate. I do an mwd warp thinking I would warp faster; I turn it off before the first cycle is over. I expect some people have experienced this before especially with oversized ab/mwd combos. I was seemingly aligned to warp and at a speed that should allow me to warp but I couldnÆt. I am soiling, by this time the frigates are closing in and I am deep into armour. I expect to get scrambled at any second. But then I do something quite clever really, that I thought was beyond me in the adrenaline rush. I pressed ctrl + space and clicked to warp again as fast as I could. I had to speed up a few m/s and I was losing structure in chunks. I lose my lock on their ships and I think I am dead but I warp out with little over 3% structure. The frigates hadnÆt scrambled me.
Another time when I was in my Tempest in Providence, I was in a system with three people, there is an enemy tempest at a gate by himself. I warp in and wait for him to aggress in case he wants to jump. He fires and I begin to pound him. He is into armour and I am at about 50% shields, the other two guys in local warp in, 1 apoc and 1 taranis. I stay and finish off the tempest with the apoc doing damage to my armour that I would otherwise be able to repair. However, I had take a risk whilst fitting and decided to fit kinetic and thermal hardeners, meaning that his bane torpedoÆs that were starting to hit me were doing 500+ damage. Local fills up, in a panic I try and web the taranis but actually web the apoc. I manage to nos the taranis and my drones mean that he has to warp out. I warped off with 10% armour as several other ships were warping in. The only mistake is that I left my drones at the scene of the fight. At this point I am overconfident. I repair my armour as the majority of the hostile leave system. I have no idea why but I decided to jump past them and see if I can pick off anymore. They are all around the gate I jump through but I managed to warp off to a SS before they scramble me.
The funny part is what happened the next day. I find a lone scorpion and blow him up, picking up some tech II cap rechargerÆs. I also had numerous BPCÆs which I had got as a reward for blowing up some Xetic indy. Later that day I decided to make a run for empire. 1 person in my system and 2 in the next. People who know providence will know that a blob that size is never worth investigating but the one time I donÆt want to fight it was. A scorpion was on the gate I was jumping through, I jump and he follows. A frigate, a raven and a scorpion. Frigate was at 35km+ and both battleships were past 20km. I wasnÆt too worried. I activated my MWD for a quicker warp but unfortunately the MWD put me in scramble range for the raven. Jammed, Torpified, Webified and without drones I was screwed. I was just annoyed about losing my rechargers.
Mimiru > It'd be a tie, the monkies nerfed pooflinger wouldnt have enough tracking to hit the parrot orbiting him, but the parrot's beak is so small it couldnt break the monkey's fur tanking. |
