Edited by: Mira Robinson on 26/01/2011 23:51:09 Most of my skillpoints have been heavilly invested in mining, so suffice to say, my attempts at PvP have met with relative disaster.
So. To begin with PvP, what skills to start training up? I have 1.4 million unallocated SP from the learning removal.
Hit me with your suggestions.
EDIT: Also, I'm probably gonna be looking for small gang warfare. Slightly more safe and much more fun in numbers, right? ----------------------------- Welcome to EVE. Ship happens. |

If you want specifics, use eft to make a ship setup you want to fly, then right click on the modules and look at everything listed under "change affecting skills" to get an idea of what to train.
Remember that most of pvp is about knowing when to fight and when to run, and you usually decide that before you're ever on grid with the other ships (e.g. directional scanner, intel channels, scouts, etc.). What skills you have trained only affects what ships you can fly and what fittings you can use on said ships.
Some really general stuff off the top of my head:
All the drone skills needed to fly heavy drones and T2 warriors.
All the turret skills to use t2 turrets of the ship class you want to fly. The usefulness of T2 turrets varies ship to ship, however everything but x turret specification also helps out your t1 turrets.
General engineering/electronics support skills. Engineering V, electronics V, propulsion disruption, mechanic V, etc. - - - Dian'h Might - C&Ps resident "internet kleptomaniac" |

It all depends ENTIRELY on what you wish to do.
Do you like skirmish/nano-tactics? Do you like the "gank and tank" and/or "brawler" style of combat? Or do you prefer more of a "support"/"anti-support support" role?
Each specialty has a place in small gang combat (though, small gangs tend to employ more of the skirmish/nano-tactics more than anything) and carries its own risks. _______________________

Propulsion Jamming lvl 1 is all you need and most good pirate corps will take you on to learn the trade. Ironically pirates are the happiest and nicest people in Eve... they'll help you
