Using ECM ships? I'm wondering if a fleet of 5-10 rooks, or widows could permanently ecm the rats long enough to pawn them. Maybe even a fleet of ecm tengus.

Edited by: Valarre on 27/01/2011 22:05:47 is that sarcastic? I don't know how effective they are with ecm tbh never tried it. There are sections of that ship that do give ecm bonuses.

When my corp lived in a C5 wormhole, we had a scorpion in our RR chain. It was (obviously) the weakest of the bunch, but the ECM was huge.
It would also make the battleships come closer and the cruisers would run away (in a straight line) making everything easier to kill. It did, however, make the scorpion pilot have pretty much all the aggro.
Is the Sanshas are anything like Sleepers, I would think it would be a huge asset. ---------------- A million faces, each a million lies |

Did a vanguard site with a scorp and some other ships, all running remote shield xfer. The Sansha made the scorp primary for most parts.

Yeah but I'm talking about the whole fleet being ecm. Is it farfetched? Could the whole fleet have all of the sansha locked down? I'm of course talking about the missions/plexes inside the incursion, not when there is 100's of nightmares lurking about.

I don't see why not. You'd still want RR of some kind if jams fail and your dps would probably suck, but hey, if they can't do anything you have all the time in the world. ---------------- A million faces, each a million lies |

Terrible idea. You would not be able to keep the rats permajammed, and managing 8 midslot ECM's, a cap xfer and a RR module plus guns and drones is horribly taxing on a player - and if you have a whole fleet of them, good luck.

Whole fleet of ecm boats wont have the tank or the dps tbh. A few ecm ships in a fleet is a good thing though.

Would be a good idea if you could keep stuff permajammed but it doesnt happen. 1-2 in your fleet could help but having all ECM would nerf your gangs damage and tank too much.

Had 2 rooks in fleet once. Mostly tank fit though, with only 2 ecms in mid. The actual jam probably didn't make much of a difference, especially since they were pretty much perma-jammed by sansha and only had chance to jam back once in a long while. But they did seem to draw a lot of aggro away from the logis and everyone else, which is always a good thing.

ECM works rather well, but you need a ship that can lock fast.
The ECM by Sansha is generated mainly by frigate sized ships from what I've seen so far, and if they jam you first because you are still locking you're useless.
I've built an armor-tanked "bait" Scorp though that I want to try out. Even if the ship gets jammed first it will hopefully draw aggro off the other fleet members.

confirming that ECM rocks, and also anything you can do to quicken your lock time is a good thing.
