I know this has been suggested before but I havent found any threads about it so... I would love to see an built in fitting tool just the same functionality as EFT but built into the client...
why hasnt this been implemented yet!? surely it would be easy for CCP to do?

When they revamped the fitting screen there was a bit of an outcry that it infringed on EFT because it had some similar features.
This isn't an argument against it but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Now what would really be cool is EFT and EVEMon combined with EVE. Instant Automatic Updating, an dso many features and issues with EFT and EVEMon would be fixed. There would also be an expanded database. The EFT System is unlike the new in-game fitting system, but instead, you can plan ship fittings ahead of time and find out how they would affect your ship. And with EVEMon built-in as well, you get the picture. -- As an Amarr Defector, I chose to become a Mercenary and Industrialist. I also have one goal in mind: Create a new age of peace and prosperity for all four empires. |

While i heartily agree with these ideas in concept they would unfortunately upset a large and dedicated portion of the EVE community - namely those that have spent countless hours of personal time creating these brilliant tools.
The only way forward would be some sort of reimbursement or hiring of the folks that programmed EFT and EVEmon but how happy CCP would be about going down that avenue, i dunno :) "Grammatically, the word 'nothing' is a noun, which suggests that it refers to something." - Wikipedia |

While it's true that people might get upset to have their programs be made superfluous, that is not a valid argument against the EVE client getting new features. That's just a risk you take--if you fill a role that the EVE client doesn't perform, it may eventually perform that same role.
I'd much rather have certain functionality implemented seamlessly into the client than have to ALT+TAB out, start up some other program, mess with it, then ALT+TAB back. Elegance and usefulness should be placed over the feelings of people who write third-party utilities, useful though they may be. BTW, I'm a programmer and I know how much work (and fun) writing programs can be. It's not like anyone is selling these programs and thus would lose out on income, though. -----WARNING SIGNATURE BELOW-----

people might be displeased to learn theoretical EFT fits dont actually do as stated, like any fit relating to hybrids in the case of dps or chance to land ecm etc.
