Originally by: Yves Nat I've run L4 missions with varying success in an Ishtar, a Loki and a Cynabal. The biggest problem I've run up against is the occasional mission that has an ultra-tanked named target. Can't remember now, but there's one that ends with a 2.4MM bounty Raven, and the Ishtar just could not put out enough DPS (Sentry Drones with Sentry Drone Rig), to crack them. My shield tanked Loki can auto-run a booster, and with the great inherent resists it can easily tank any L4 mission I've run, DPS can still be a bit low. The Cynabal has been great, too fast for NPCs to hurt too much, and it chews through frigates, cruisers and BC. It can be slow to take down BS, but it does the job.
That mission is called Vengeance.

a couple of missions are good for hacs.
lv 4 blockade comes to mind. You'll need the speed to approach the sensor damp rats... which is 50% of them per wave. Run in a bs and you'll crawl to them since your targetting range will drop to like 15km most of the mission (the sensor damps rats are smart in this mission, tyhey don't rush to you...you'll have to meet them). Or run a drone boat and let your little friends run around popping them.
Mission like damsel in distress on small faster ships can literally just spin around a pleasure garden on auto orbit for a speed tank. Blaster deimos might have a range issue ( I tengu this mission, well all missions, hate bs pve after doing it so long), closest the bc's get is maybe 15 km's if you orbit the pleasure garden only. Makes this mission one of the easiet to cluster the wrecks for a tractoring in a salvage ship later though imo. Most times I run it, have all bs wrecks in a 15-20km reach (cruisers too, if pressed for time I jsut hit bs wrecks though).

Been running about 60 lvl 4's for roden shipyards in a sleipnir. After blowing it up in worlds collide i've been doing about 30 missions in a sacrilege and i don't really feel the difference in DPS as long as i use the proper ammo type (e.g. serpentis = thermal).

If it has to be a HAC, the Isthar is your best bet
Anybody telling you the Tengu is a bad lvl 4 mission runner is an idiot. The key is to blitz missions with the Tengu, not just sit idle at 0 and shoot everything you see.
The high agility, high speeds and even the ability to get a higher warp speed means you get in and out of missions faster, thus more LP. ...Then when you stopped to think about it. All you really said was Lalala. |

There's 4 cruiser hulls that are good at missions: ishtar gila cerb tengu.
ishtar and gila are drone carriers of course. you get about 4-500 dps with sentry rigs.
Cerb and tengu are your missile platforms. cerb has about 440 dps with CN heavies. Tengu about 700.
While there's more cruiser hulls that can deliver that dps the majority don't have the range, so even if it's theoretically possible to use a diemost or loki or even a legion you'd lose a lot of time running from ship to ship which makes it kinda impractical...

This. I'm guessing that anybody who thinks a Tengu is a poor mission runner has never even flown one. Skill for one and ditch that fat CNR (ugliest ship in the game, if asthetics are taken into account). You wont regret it.

I have 3 characters with over 9 faction standings fool. I just don't want to post with my main, that would be beyond retar***. Cerberus can run lvl4 missions? Lol of course it can, but so can Dramiel. Effective??? You call that effective and *you* have the nerve to call *me* a troll??? You back under the bridge NAO!
Edit: and you have good standings with CN and corporate police force? no wonder you prefer to farm sanctums.
Yes Cerb can be very effective as cheap no sp loss low/null sec mission boat if you blitz for SP.
Not all of us just sit and mission in high sec. Null sec mission running is prefered in either the Tengu or Cerberus over the CNR. Calculate the loss of Cerb with CN BCU's with t2 tank over similar fit Tengu or CNR.
Any other 12 year old comment's ?

I use my Ishtar to run L4 missions all the time. Not sure what these other people saying it's no good are talking about. It flies faster than a BS, has an immense drone bay and is quite tough. I prefer it over a Proteus in that I can afk most of it while the drones do the work. Only thing I'm wary of is heavy webbing.

I've been using my vagabond lately for missions and it is fun. As long as you watch out for those webbers, you'll be fine. Though I lack in range, I don't lack in speed to get my ship in range.

Since you generalized, so will I: "non-sense."
