So I decided to throw some money at Eve online again and noticed some changes when I logged in. Needed to create a new profile pic, wonder where the learning skills went, etc...etc...
But I find myself with a retriever and no skills to use it, so I spend a bunch of skill points I have to set myself up. Great... on board, strip miner supplied and off to find ore. And so it continues.... solar system after solar system, astroid belt after astroid belt... and I find one single rock of Veldspar inside an hour. Where'd the ore go?

The population is greater than in anytime in the past. Because of this you may find that in some high sec areas you need to get in early after DT to get to the ore before it's gone.
If you are in a high population area try moving out further. |

One of the things that has changed is the value of tritanium. You can make more money hauling garbage than trit now. Almost every ore produces enough trit to be irritating, so there's no need to do Veldspar exclusively.
Google for an Eve Ore Value chart. What's hot in hi sec now is Pyroxeres.
If you Eve Mail me I can probably recommend some systems no matter what you want to mine or where you are.

There is a ton of ore to be mined, but not if you're 1) near a trade hub, 2) on a major trade route, or 3) in a system with .9 sec or higher.
Move out. Find a new base. There are lots of systems in Amarr space (even in Domain) with small populations and lots of rocks to eat. The hauls to the trade hubs are a little longer, but it's better than flying from empty belt to empty belt.

Going to the southern part of Domain or Tash-Murkon should give you more than enough roids to eat and fund your other habits with. It isn't the best location with respect to Jita but that's the price you pay to keep mining. You'll want to look for systems that aren't used much, have no stations and as many belts as possible. Hang a POS with a LSAA there to store your ore in and haul it from there with a freighter.
Remember not to go mining during Hulkageddon though.

Make sure your overview settings are showing you all asteroids, not just the veldspar ones. I think the default setting shows only veldspar.

Its because of the bots. In my system about 5-8 bots do strip mine whole belts. its easy to figure out cause they never respond to anything. They are unhumanly often online. Its really sad and until im not military equipped enough i cant do anything against it. CCp isnt doing anything too lol

try the Khanid region -- i saw system after system with no stations and full of Pyrox in them.
Also as far as ore value: https://eve-industrialist.com/eve-industrialist/whattomine.eve (also has links to help figure out MFG pnl and such)

If you don't like it, blow them out of the sky. As soon as they realize using their bots is losing more money in ship replacing then gaining, they won't come back ;)

You're waiting for an ibis, an ibis that will take you far away. You know where you hope this ibis will take you, but you can't be sure. But it doesn't matter - because we'll be together. |

Depending on how long his break was, he may see today's Trit prices as outlandishly high. Go back far enough, and trit prices were 1/3 of what they are today. Back before the population explosion in 0.0, Megacyte was the big bottleneck.
