I'm caldari going Minmatar. Once I got into the drake, I felt I experienced all there was to caldari lol. No offence :P
so I recently got podded a few times in a row, during a rather big battle, and because as I died and refitted quickly, I never upgraded my clone. In the process I lost 10 days of "heavy missiles 5" in literally 10 minutes. I've petitioned it. I doubt anything will happen.
So now I don't know what to do.
I'm obviously focusing on gunnery since I'm going minmatar, so Should I continue going about my skill plan, or should I re invest the 10 days into heavy missiles 5 again? I know minmatar ships use launchers and such, but from what I've heard its mostly gunnery with Mim.
Really the only benefit I can get from HM5 in the "short term" is being able to rat faster Lol. But at the same time, I can now fly minmatar battleships and fit em with large guns and these things rat faster than a drake.
So I was hoping to get some advice on which way to go here.
Cheers.

There is literally no reason to ever lose SP and I don't know why you think that was petitionable.

Ignore the heavy missile skill, it's not that important for Minmatar.
And please don't waste GM's time.

Your doubt is justified: player stupidity is not petitionable. :)

If you look at the Battleship Skill Bonus for a minmie ship like the Typhoon, for example, you'll see a 5% bonus to Large Projectile Turret Rate of Fire and 5% bonus to Siege and Cruise missile launcher Rate of Fire per level. So, I'd say: forget Heavy Missiles V. And in the future, keep your medical clone upgraded, or you *will* regret losing Cruise Missiles V. --

Missiles _are_ useful to Minmatar, but heavy missiles specifically aren't, particularly. Get your guns up to t2-equippable instead. ---

Your Drake wont stop being useful just because you've trained Minmatar ships as well. And there are other mid-size Caldari ships which are well worth flying (the Rook springs to mind immediately, followed by the Cerberus).
I would strongly advise training T2 HMLs, especially if you have reasonably good missile support skills. As said above, the SP investment is not that high - and a ratting drake with a rack of T2/Spec 3 HMLs is much better than one with a rack of meta 2-3 HMLs.
In short: develop both your Caldari and your Minmatar skills. You'll find they complement each other very well.
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |
