PC Gamer Top 100 - Eve not in...

You cant really get ahead. Unfortunatley, this is true. Untill EvE i.e CCP, learns to protect its player base from griefing. Never will hit the top 100 :) Thats my opinion anyway.

They don't seem to take note on console ports, or even differentiate between the two. I'd put a wager down on saying most of the editors/staff on PCGamer play more console games. They also miss a Ton of PC exclusives, which is sad, for a "PC Gaming" publication. They just pick up on every "blockbuster" title that's coming out, like every other random publication. They're mostly a glorified blog site. Regurgitating announcements like the rest of the fourth estate. No one seems to "specialize" in reporting a certain craft anymore. It's all 'same-y'.

Deus Ex belongs its number 1 place because it is a game no other can get close to in terms of playability. It is 8 years old now and still out plays todays games. Many people dislike it because the multiplayer is very hard to master. It is a game where you get to make your own choices all the way through the game for many different endings. Deus Ex is the #1 game of all time right now.

I had a 7-8 year sub (of the US version) and finally cancelled it a few years ago. All of the reviews/articles read like console gamers who are forced to review PC games. Even their hardware section turned into advertisements rather than honest reviews. So, most anything you read in there is rubbish. The other localised versions buy their articles and put them in their mags. Hence why some reviews are really good, and most are **. Top 100 is one of those US-editor things, and is likely why it is pants. The UK version has always had EVE in it, as they focus more on the games which define PC Gaming, and the titles which stand out (EVE Online, Startopia, etc). TL;DR : buy the UK version. ---

EVE definitely has its merits but it's also full of half finished content, lag, bugs, weird game mechanics, inconsistencies. It's everything but a smooth, balanced and finished product.
