Hello
Ive just re-done my pc and installed eve and it wont load. i double click the icone, launch screen comes up, dissapears and then eve does jack all, just wont load.
All drivers up to date. Windows firewall off. It wont even start in eve safemode. It was working fine before the re-install. everything is is working fine. just eve is messing around.
Can anyone help? Has anyone else had this problem?

Windows 7? Start button, type "Event Viewer", boot EVE and see if anything of note happens.
Not sure if related, but I had a problem with reinstalling Windows and then simply copying the old EVE directory. It would go into a frustrating loop of crashing, couldn't get rid of the darned error box for love nor money lol

Have you tried running repair.exe in the EVE folder? Also did you do a clean install of EVE or just transfer the old files to a new PC?

Generate Activation Context failed for C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\tbb.dll. Reference error message: The operation completed successfully.
What does this mean?

You sure you restarted after installing directX? Your post times are fairly close, installing DirectX can take up to 20mins on a bad machine =] not saying yours is bad, but usually would take at least 5minutes!

My suggestion would be to run the EVE repair tool.. that not working, uninstall and redownload. Other than that, I got nothin.
