ôThe Perfect Corp. Systemö BUT ccpà..
Ok first things first! We all have members in our corp.Æs who do not help out, log on much or log on at all. So how is you corp. going to grow its assets? How are you going to pay the members that do help evenly? Better yet how are you going to get the members who donÆt care to want to help out as much as possible for the better good of the corp. and its members?
Well here is how!
Step 1. Start using CORP.STANDINGS to measure the prefermentÆs of your members so you know and they know how valuable they are to the corp. what they deserve and what they will get out of the corp. A new member gets 0.1 - And if they get to 6.0 make them a director - a CEO is 10. and so on do it how you feel is right.
No buts to step 1.
Step 2. CREATE CORP. SHARES the most you can make is 10 million shares so you can start giving them out to your wanting hardworking members because they know at the end of every month the will be receive dividends from there shares! Wahoo \o/ I would not give shares to a new member until the reach a 3.0 corp. standing. 0.1 standing points are worth 1,000 shares so some one that has 3.0 corp. standing gets 30,000 corp. shares k
Ok so now they know that if the try to raise there corp. standings they will get more shares which equals to more isk ever months end and the also know the more isk is in the corp. wallet the bigger the returns so off they go on those mining ops! Sound like a win win plan to me ?
BUT!!!!! 1.CCP only lets you create up to 10 million shares no more then that if you member base grows to big it will out grow the dividends % balance if you members have more shares then the corp. dose thatÆs not good . The corp. need to keep at lest 50% of total shares and thatÆs hard to do if you canÆt make more then 10 mil. shares ôCCP pleas fixö 2.If a members has some of your corp. shares then gets sick of the game and just quits with out telling anyone never to return æwellÆ thatÆs it those corp. shares are gone you canÆt get them back and you are paying out dividends to some on that is never going to play again and on top of that you cant make more shares to compensate for the one that are gone cos there is a 10 mil share max! 3.Boy now we are starting to have a leaky ship here! ôCCP pleas fixö why canÆt you just make some thing that works full circle? Why?
Step 3. CORP HANGERS first make a personnel hanger then put station cans in it have one for ever member these are going to be give to the corp. cans each member gets one the more crap the member gives to the corp. the more his corp. standings go up k
Then you take that crap sell it with the corp. wallet minerals, dotages, npc crap and so on but you keep the module loot because you are going to put it in your great can filing tree system just like the markets filing tree system! You name ever can like hybrid ammo small, hybrid ammo medium, and hybrid ammo large put one can in side the other until you have a corp. module filing tree. k
Now put a corp. standing on ever can like this hybrid ammo small CS 1.0 CS = Corp. Standings so a member needs a corp. standing of 1.0 to get in to that can you do the same with the others. The more valuable the loot the higher CS you put on the can.
So now your members not just working hard for dividends but all so for the best tech 2 loot you have in the corp. hanger cool huh?
BUT!!!
1. ThatÆs just crazy who the hell is going to set up a system like that and if the try they will not find all the cans the need to do that because for some dumb idea some cans are not sold in ever station on top of that just think of the time you need to unlock ever item my god! And having a different password for ever can in your 50 can system man thatÆs nuts ôCCP pleas fixö canÆt you just cut the bull @ish and just make corp hangers that can be organized to fit the corps needs
Well the thatÆs it the The Perfect Corp. System that turned out to be NOT to Perfect !!!!
Sorry guys I tryed

your corpsystem misses one point.
This is a game.
Your corp will be ready to die if you let "the most active person" climb up the ranks without checking out their qualifications. An unactive good diplomate is prolly better for a directorspot then someone who is a shotgun politician but online 24/7.
In addition if you keep up a strong connection between "online time" and "income" you will discourage players who play this game for fun and are bound due to rl to limited freetime.
Furthermore if you hand out shares, dont forget the voting rights coming with it. Sooner or later you will have a small clique dictating where the corp goes by majority vote, eventho they might be just 10% of your memberbase.
How much would the corpwallet pay per month if you have like 10 billion isk and 100 members ? The payment will prolly not seem fair.
How will your members get t2 equipment and equipment your corp does not offer when their activities are corp only ? This would require you to buy everything for them which would again be impossible due to your "ranking system" which would prevent certain ppl to use certain t2 goods (especially players new to your corp but with 10mil skp).
Last but not least your hangar system: LoL A nightmare. First of all it wont prevent corptheft, will make an itemsearch hillarious and takes alot of administration for what? Another weakness is the fact it will only work on 1-3 hangars / offices as you wont have that much plunder in every office. You have about 60 cans there just for the "ranking", who decides what every can can house ? I.e. is a gyrostab 2 can 48 or 49 ? etc etc
P.S. i saw sometimes you wrote ccp "fix" i hope they dont. There are more important things on the todo list then fixing issues apparently only a person with a mad administrator personality could come up with

Didnt really read it all, but just to point out with shares. You dont have to create 10million and hand out 1k a time, you could create 10k and hand out 1 at a time and achieve the same results and allow u to create more shares if you got to that point. ----- Eris Discordia; I think the proper term is <3

Edited by: Babs Johnson on 28/01/2005 13:41:42 If I ran my corp like you ran your corp, I wouldn't have much of a corp left after a while.
All this talk of assigning values to people and "hard work" and "off they go to those mining ops." Jezuz.
My corpmates deal with those kinds of expectations during the day in real life. I'm not going to make them live in that kind of atmosphere during their limited recreation time as well. And I'm not about to withhold benefits to a corpmate because she can only play for a couple of hours after the supper dishes are washed and her kids' homework is done and the kids are put to bed.
My corporation's members don't play this game to serve a corporate master. My corporation exists to serve its members. That is the perfect corp system for us. And we are doing quite well.

My one tip for growing a corp of indespensable members...
ò Get them on teamspeak!!! A good community can develop a LOT quicker when you know the guys (and gals) that are in your corp. Laughing and joking (and fall outs) are a lot more spontaneous and a real sense of belonging can develop. Once you have this, your corp will be better at PvP as a group, and more focussed towards teamwork in general.
Once you have members that genuinely want to be there and help out because they are part of a real team your corp is onto a winner - watch it grow and then appoint your most trusted friends as co-ceo's / directors etc to help manage the workload.
You may also find that a culture of giving to the greater good develops in your corp - members do not need petty rewards of isk or shares... but in fact just want to stay in the corp.
I hope that helps a little. |

1. You need an unemployeed CEO. 2. Get people with military experience to get correct lingo. 3. Never give pilots more than they deserve they'll take everything for granted. 4. If someone contiually jumps in too early or jumps into a system when you already have a covert ops there to "check it out" fire them immediatly, they are complete noobs and ruin the surprise everytime and ruin all the fun for the people who follow orders and wait where they are supposed to. _ _ How many pilots does it take to wire a Flux Capacitor? 3, 1 to wire it and 2 to talk about how the old one was better. |

"The perfect corp" looks like a npc corp, were the CEO is the agent and you have to raise your standings towards him so you can get stuff. As Velios said Teamspeak is the key to make a better corp.

I can't imagine why anyone would want that corp system. This is a game, we are supposed to have fun, not go mine more ore than my corpmates to raise my standings to my corp.
If there really are corps that work that way (or similarly) in EVE then it's really sad tbh.

The building and maintaing "The Perfect Corp" is one that's based on friendship and sense of community. Everything else will work out if you have those 2 key elements.
If not then you won't last 3 months.
It's all about community.
Also be willing to change things based on input from your corp members.
