I like time travel, very interseting subject. I could sit there and think about it all day. Imagine you could time travel in Eve. How would that work?

You should invent a time machine and go back an hour or two before the posts on this (now tired) subject were made.

Actually this would be a great way to make a new 0.0 server, that isnt limited to botter and NC
Like go back to when Amarr were dying to Joves, make that all 0.0 and claimable, add some storyline on 'how' we went back in time and voila a new type of gameplay - 0.0 will be all MINE! |

If CCP ever did set up another server for EVE, this would be one of the more interesting ways to do it certainly, everybody would start out at pretty much the same starting point, besides player experience. They could introduce some entertaining alternate storylines perhaps. ------------------------------------------------ Quafe is people! |

time travel is overrated. it's infinitely more efficient to change things now. ________________________________ : Forum Bore 'Em : Foamy The Squirrel - [jedi handwave] "There is no spoon." |

If you do a get info on stars you will see some are more than 20 billion years old. Well, the universe is only 13.7 billion years old, so how can that be? One possibility: the Eve gate did not just traverse space, but time, like many billion years of time. Our game is set not just a few thousand years in the future, but billions of years in the future.
The sleepers in w-space may have been sleeping for a very very long time.

But, what would happen if you "went" back in time and tried to kill your char in the past?

Eve has FTL communication, ergo time travel.

How time passes has much to do with gravity. So it wouldn't even take anything as extreme as travelling faster than light. Even just how close you are to various amounts of matter would alter how it passes for you in relation to the rest of the universe.
Before anyone asks or argues.
Confirmation of this effect supports the idea that gravity is a manifestation of spaceûtime curvature because the flow of time is no longer constant throughout the universe but varies according to the distribution of massive bodies.

If CCP would start EVE all over again and the same people that play now would play aswel you would be surprised howmuch of the people in 0.0 and in high sec would remain the same.

Every time you move relative to something else you experience time slightly differently than they do. You time travel all the time. BAM.

It is very difficult to do time travel in any game because then you have to figure the butterfly effect. Far to many variables for really a game to handle.
