quick question, if i'm setting a towers (wormhole) defences to use standings ONLY - and i'm aware standings are only corp to corp - do I need to set my corp standings to every other corp in my alliance? or is it i*n*t*e*l*l*i*g*e*n*t enough to recognise my alliance corps automatically? :)
I believe the check box 'allow alliance member usage' doesn't relate to this?
Many thanks

If you are talking about PoS guns/ewar etc then the Star base defence skill is required to operate it & i do believe its corp only.

From the POS eve-wiki page:
Please note: *When setting standings, only the POS's owner corporation standings towards that of another player corporation are taken into account. Setting standings towards an alliance, individual pilots, NPC factions or NPC corporations are not effective. Entering zero does not equate to a neutral standing. Only by not checking the setting's box and not entering any value is it ensured that this setting is not taken into account should a pilot come into range of any defense structures.
-------------------------------------------
So it would appear that you do need to set standings to each of the corps individually.

Check the "Use Alliance Standings" box, and all will be good.

That allows alliance members into the force field.

Here's the Link
I understand what this means, but I have an out of alliance alt in a noob corp that I use for cynos who I set as a corp contact with + standings, and my tower doesnt shoot it.
Additionally, I only have my alliance set to + not the individual corps and my tower doesnt shoot them either.
I know that anecdotal evidence is anecdotal but its fairly compelling.

Not to hijack this thread but how do I allow a non-corpmate not in my alliance to get past my POS Shields w/o getting shot? I had set his corp to +10 but he was still getting shot at. I've talked to a couple people with WH POS experience and some say that CCP is glitchy and sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't shoot the non-corpmate. Others say that the POS is considered an alliance asset thus the alliance has to set standings for the corp. -----------------
