Does anyone else think that risk for reward is a bit unbalanced for lvl 5 missions that are in low sec? For example if you risk your 1.2 bil tengu, or Rattlesnake in low sec shouldn't the payout be about equal to the value of those type of ships? Just saying. The reward for lvl 5 missions needs to be significantly increased to like 50 mil payout, 50 mil bonus, 50k lp, with about 100 mil in salvage in order for them to be worth the effort. Otherwise you will continue to see lvl 5 mission systems pretty much left barren.

Edited by: Valarre on 13/02/2011 02:49:35 Don't forget bounties. I'm thinking another 50-100mil in bounties would be in order as well. Per mission.

You could have several fleet members be fit for PvP, so you can get tasty kill mails on would-be gankers as well as their loots. It seems no one wishes to take advantage of allies in low/null sec.

Last time I saw a Level 5 agent, it did not force me to take the mission..
Enough said.

What on Earth does this have anything to do with this topic? I'm not complaining about being forced into lvl 5 missions. I'm looking for more incentive to actually want to run them. The fact of the matter is, at this time it's hardly worth running these types of missions, and if you were making 300-400 mil isk per mission it would be worth it, plus bringing some of your friends to come help you run them would be more of a viable option.

Edited by: Mimiru Minahiro on 13/02/2011 05:23:26 Do them in a bomber and risk practically nothing.
Also: pretty sure CCP does not balance to things outside of thier control. ie player induced risk.
Drunk edit- also less people doing l5's is good. Makes LP worth more.

You don't NEED to use a 1.2 billion ISK ship. Get a friend and yourself in a pair of RR, cap transferring Dominixs and do it. _______________________

As someone who actually runs L5 missions on a regular basis, as opposed to those who just whine about them not being in hi sec anymore, I can say that the risk and reward are balanced just fine. Complaints about risking a tengu to do them are fail.
As someone said, 2 rr bs can work well for some missions, although I usually prefer a tengu (active tank) and a logi providing cap tx (for the heavy neut missions), or the tengu and a domi for gated missions. For non-gated missions I can just warp in a carrier, get aggro and drop fighters/drones while running another on my other screen.
The initial jump or two into low sec can be a little dangerous, but scouting can easily avoid that. Minimal attention to local/scanner can easily keep you safe.
This is not the alt you are looking for. |

Got a better plan, allow a lone player to fend off gankers while he's running into a mission, with NPC assistance for LP. Just in case don't feel like bringing in a buddy or an alt.
You play as you want to. Let others play as they want to, too. All in all, something is awfully wrong with taking on 60+ NPC ships and live to tell, and yet be dead meat to 6 lowesec ganker carebear PvPers.

You see, that's just it, you run your missions with a carrier or a tengu paired with logistics. I would imagine that the reward for you risking those type of ships should be significantly higher. 1.2bil for the average Tengu, or 2 bil+ for a proper carrier. Sure hypothetically you can run them with a couple of rr battleships. However that isn't really a realistic thing now is it? Two rr battleships in a lvl 5 mission probably just aren't as effecient as going out with the big guns. CCP said it themselves, they want to provide content that has rewards for the risk you put out there. Well here I am, I want them to put their money where their mouth is. I want a reward that matches the isk I put out on the line for flying my billion isk ship into a pvp zone. Endo story. While we are on the subject about risk versus reward ccp, how about fixing the no risk for reward windfall isk faucet large alliances are enjoying by doing away with their rat bots?

Indeed, I suggest boosting NPC damaged by at least 250%.
