Edited by: Zaruzada on 17/02/2011 11:50:11 This post is aimed at newbs, like around 4 months old. Did you know that faction modules use less CPU in general and perform better? I discovered that by using faction BCU's (Ballistic Control Units). I save enough CPU to fit a tractor and a T2 afterburner. I couldn't do that using standard T2 modules without an implant. Check it out in your Eve HQ fitter and you will be pleasantly surprised. Hope this helps at least one player

Are you going to give these new players a way to afford all this bling as well? Also named meta 3 and 4 use less then meta 1 and T2 items for a cheaper alternative

Fitting even 1 caldary navy BCU instead of a T2 saves about 14 CPU. That may be the difference between fitting an afterburner or not. ok so they cost 85 mills on contract but if you dont lose the ship you can always sell them later. I just lost my full faction fit drake worth over 2 bills in a level 4. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaa! hahahahaha! it's all in the game.

Just throwing this out there, but assuming this is not a troll: If you plan on spending more than 150mil on your pve ship, it better not be a drake, that's just a waste. |

Aaah, I remember the days when I used to run sansha plexes in Rashy. Got popped by the rats when I mishandled my Hawk, it had 2 gurista and 2 CN light missile launchers on it. Those things were about 40 mil a piece back then, I used to make a lotta money as a newbie.
Three out of four launchers actually survived, used them until I switched entirely to a Tengu, then sold them back.
Always try to use EFT to see what you can put on your ship. But most importantly, always know what you're going up against. |

I would like to hear you explain how it is a waste if you are not just trolling.
I can explain how it is not a waste, I.E. you will make the difference in price in a few hours, and then always finish missions quicker afterwards.

Because the drake is a terrible ship to be running lvl 4s in. It's all tank no gank. The drake should only be a short stepping stone before hopping into a raven, which will perform better. |

cn bcus are great for saving cpu, but they shouldn't be needed, like seriously train electronics 4 or something

All relevant skills are trained to level 5 and I couldnt fit a tractor and a T2 afterburner. 656.25 units is all I can seem to squeeze out of it. It was a case of one or the other. the cn bcu's made this possible

Ballistic Control System. I have no idea if it used to be called Ballistic Control Unit (which is the reason people use the acronym CNR, it used to be Caldari Navy Raven) or if they just prefer the acronym BCU over BCS. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

It used to be a Ballistic Control Unit. Also PDU instead of PDS, Heavy Assault Cruiser instead of Heavy Assault Ship, etc.

Seriously, get a raven or something. You can tank most lvl 4s with a t1 cruiser if you faction pimp it, tank is not the issue. The only real way to determine how good a ship is at running missions is how much isk it can pull in. Marauders aside, as they get added income from salvage/looting on the go, the way you increase isk/hour with a better mission ship is usually by increasing damage projection (Raw DPS + how well it actually applies said DPS) The drake has good damage application, but the raw damage is so low you're literally going to get outdone by a guy in a t1 fit domi running lvl 4s while not even at his computer. The drake is not something you skill up to be uber in if you're looking to do pve, it's a ship you use to run missions until you have the isk for a BS. |
