There is no dedicated gas harvesting ship. My proposal is very simple, and hardly game breaking. Can the Noctis have 5 turret hardpoints added, no bonus needed. This would allow a single ship to refit to mine gas and salvage. Please? --

Well it wouldn't imbalance anything. There are plenty of ships that have 5 turrets. No ship gets a gas mining bonus ingame anyway. This would just require one less ship needed in WH's. It's not very complicated tbh, just a bit of consolidation. --

I;d still prefer a new ship. the noctis was a good addition and a new ship for that roel should be too no ship should have too many roles.

I guess no ship should have too many roles. But it's not really giving it that role. It's just offering it up as a possibility. It's not like it's getting bonuses. Right now the same logic is applied to a Megathron considering it too has 5 turrets. That means it could be a battleship and a salvaging ship.
Get my meaning? But if CCP want's to bonus up a new ship for it I'm game. --

megathron has 7 turrets and while you could use it for salvaging you don't because it slow and has poor cargo space. whiel I do agree perhaps they should give this ship this role if it fits wel I personally don;t know as don't do gas mining but I think it owuld better to make a new ship as maybe you don;t want it as fast or maybe a spelized gas drone type thing an dneve rmidn skills to use it, the ship should require some of the gas harcesting skills,

There really isn't enough demand for a dedicated gas harvesting ship to warrant it. You need gas harvesting skills to run gas harvestors.

Are you sure ? I very rarely gas mine, but I will LOVE to have specialized gas mining ship (or modified noctis to fit that role). And as we speak about noctis - adding one mid slot for him will be extremnly nice. ------------------------------------------------

Hell i would support it, i tried hard to make it combat able with small smartbombs, but you rarely face a solo frig that wont get you of smarty range. Turrets would make it easier. Also i would like one additional Med slot please, for a cap recharger ... ofc.

Personally i'm kinda on the fence about this. Objectively There are very compelling reasons why the Noctis can't ever have turret slots. One it is intended to be incapable of mining. If you give an industrial 5 turret slots, the first thing people will do is add 5 t2 mining lasers. At the same time they also aren't meant to be able to arm themselves, not even with drones.
I like the idea of Gas harvesting getting it's own ship. If gas harvesting were more feasible, boosters would not be so outrageously expensive. Demand would rise and the trade would blossom. But that ship can't be the Noctis.

Why do mining gear of any sort even need turret slots? so you cant fit 2 of them to a tech 1 industrial? Maybe its so they cannot be fit on carriers?
But if there is no good reason why they should need a turret slot they they should just do away with that requirement.
