If you liked the TV series or the movie then spread the word. The interwebs are going crazy, and the story has made CNN news already.
This interview started it all.
On Feb 17, 2011, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Nathan Fillion said: ôIf I got $300 million from the California Lottery, the first thing I would do is buy the rights to Firefly, make it on my own, and distribute it on the Internet.ö
Then this web site started up and started spreading the word.
http://helpnathanbuyfirefly.com/
Twitter is going crazy with fans tweeting about the possibility of Firefly's return.
Spread the word!
You can't stop the signal!

Firefly would have been better as a book than a dull TV series, then perhaps it wouldn't be the sleeping pill it is. |

It was cancelled because the studio realized that they were losing money due to a lack of the target audiance, thus resulting in only a small number of views. When I found out there were only 14 episodes, I was greatly dissapointed. -- As an Amarr Defector, I chose to become a Mercenary and Industrialist. I also have one goal in mind: Create a new age of peace and prosperity for all four empires. |

Disappointed? I cried after Serenity, I was so frustrated and angry. Every good show is getting canceled and replaced with utter ****e like celebrity rehab. Who gives a **** FFS.

The only good episode was when he wanted to go to a Halloween party dressed up as a space cowboy and that ravishing daughter of his (Molly Quin is gorgeous) says "You went like that last year" or something like that. I ****ed myself laughing and then cried a little.

To the Firefly haters.
As for the show, it¦s dead. Wheadon killed it with the movie by killing of Wash and the Preacher.
I¦m all for nostalgia, but the actors are getting a bit old in the tooth. And frankly I don¦t want Wheadon anywhere near the show anymore. He hasn¦t made a good show for quite some time now and I suspect Tim Minear was the real creative drive behind that show anyway.
It would be nice to have a good space opera again on the boob-tube, but I don¦t think the original creators have it in them anymore. ______________ Mal-¦Appears we got here just in a nick of time. What does that make us?¦ Zoe-`Big damn heroes, sir.` Mal-¦Aint we just.¦ |

Now now people.
You are not allowed to have Firefly.
The messages in their episodes were too.. shall we say... "freedomish".
You can't have that. You might get inspired or something. The people who run Hollywood party with the people who run everything else.
Like heavy metal and rap - the originals genres and ideals gone. Heavy Metal had to be turned into this frufru poodle-haired pretty boy fluff with a target audience for teenage girls and rap had to be turned away from it's anti-state bent and more towards bling bling, self-aggrandizement, and flaming other rappers.
Now don't you like Celebrity Rehab, Dancing with the Stars, Survivor, American Idol, and those others? C'mon now. That's what you should watch. Nicey nicey.
Oooh look, a shiney object!!! There you go.
nothing to see here. Move along now.

The problem with Whedon was that he had entirely to much fun shocking his audience and did it way to often. Same thing with BSG and SG:U. You only get to do that so many times and it becomes "Bull ****. Get Back." The audience just looks at it and says "No. That wouldn't happen."
Of course, he's also known for using his creations to push his own political opinions.
He's a smart guy and the first 3 years of BTVS was some of the best stuff ever on TV ... but ... he got to full of himself and destroyed the things he'd created. There's only so much bull **** people are going to put up with before they just turn the channel and watch something else.
I would have given Doll House a chance. I've enjoyed watching Eliza in several things. But then I thought about Whedon being involved and it was ... no ... I've had enough of Joss Whedon.

Sounds like what I did. Then they said there was a movie out. Saw the movie first, then the rest of it. Seeing the movie again, knowing the back-story was a whole lot different.

Cause they put it in a ****ty time slot on a ****ty night. They essentially put it in a time slot guaranteed to kill it as fast as they could. *shrug* Wasn't interested in the series much, felt like a knockoff of Cowboy Bebop (another nice show in serious need of a reboot).
I did find it surprising that The Science Channel, of all places, will be showing Firefly starting next weekend.
Would forward this to my roommate (who's much more into this), but I believe he knows already.

It's dead chaps... Time to move on.
Personally I thought firefly was semi decent but it wasn't as fantastic as a lot of people have made it out to be since. Like most Whedon stuff it just... tried to hard, to be edgy, funny, serious and just ended up being silly.

Obviosly this guy has no clue what hes talking about. Lex i.e. was silly too, but still awesome. And its not dead as long as enough people believe in its revival

As much as I loved Firefly, people need to learn to move on. The show is dead. Yes, the network killed it first, but Whedon laid the final blow when he randomly killed off good characters in the movie (R.I.P. Wash ).
Besides, it's been a while since the actors last worked on it, and the odds of getting everything together to make it work seem pretty slim. And if Whedon gets involved again, well, forget it. He's gone downhill quite a bit lately. |

Firefly is meh. Watched the first episode, didn't bother with the rest.
(And no, I will not suffer through the rest of them just because some basement nerd thinks that I don't give the show any credit).
