So I forgot I had accepted a storyline and got caught in pvp for a week and failed a storyline mission and another mission for Gallente Federation Navy.
I took a pretty huge hit (went from something like 6.9 to 4.5 with Gallente). However I noticed, that my Caldari Navy Faction was suddenly 5.3ish. The thing is, I'm pretty sure I never got that high with Caldari Navy, as I remember 2 years ago when I just started running missions and joined a corp that was based in opposite space. "Damn it, I haven't even gotten the ability to do level 4's with Caldari Navy yet and now I have to go grind another faction!?"
Is my memory wrong, and I infact did get to 5.3 with Caldari Navy?

it has been a good amount of time since I did any mission running. But, iirc, completing a storyline for one faction will give a slight bump to your standings for other "allied" factions. For example, completing a storyline for Caldari will slightly raise your faction standing for Amarr as well. Also, you can go to your character window and check the standings transactions for the faction in question to see if you did or did not get a standing bump from doing a storyline for one of their allies.

Therein lies your answer. Right click Caldari (make sure it's the faction and not a corp) and see your most recent transactions. That should tell you if you got a bump from failing the storyline.
I frankly have no idea myself but I'd be curious to find out.

Hmm, logs don't show anything. I could of swore I've never been able to do level 4 caldari missions.
Oh'well, I don't want to test failing a storyline mission again. It true though it would be another way to possibly raise faction with the enemy.

Nope, doesn't work like that.
I tested it out and I got a double negative standings hit with that specific Faction and all it's friendly Factions while nothing happened to the unfriendly Factions.

It used to do that in the early days, but they nixed that particular mechanic when it turned out that it was easier to mass-fail missions for the opposite faction to get your standings up with the faction you were interested inà ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |
