When i first started playing this game i used a scanner on a roid and it gave me a complete breakdown of the Ore within.
If it was a Veld roid it was mainly Veld but with a touch of other Ores thrown in.
Questions
1. Which miner do you use to get at the secondary Ores as im sure its not a strip miner. 2. Did i dream this
Your answers will be appreciated.

I could be that you were in range of multiple rocks and saw them all on the scan result. Then you'd see, for example, 50,000 Veldspar, 3,000 plagioclase, etc.
If you were newer to it then it could have been misinterpreted as the rock you're targeting istead of all rocks in range.

Exactly. Survey Scanners aren't used on 1 particular asteroid; they are area-of-effect devices.

1) Survey scanners reach out 15 (and more) km and show every rock¦s contend. When using strip miner I you can mine all ores. When using strip miner II loaded with mining crystals (I or II) you still can mine every ore, but at minimum yield. Using strip miner II with proper mining crystal (I or II), gives you most yield, but you have to change crystals when mining different ores.
2)No.
Hope this helps.

No, but the way you described it made the little miner in me get a little boner.

Survey Scanners tell you the ore in an asteroid, and the quantity. If you want to know how much there is in actual minerals, you'll need to alt-tab to excel to crunch the numbers.
