Did I pass the audit?
Did anyone even audit me?

Any interesting titbits come from the audit?

Last time I checked your thread was closed and I believe up to that point no API information had been given. I just checked it again and apparently that info was removed by a mod.
Personally I don't have the tools or time to have a serious look at such data BUT as a random poor joe I'd definitely would have been interested in some info on the 'super rich' in eve. Maybe someone who had a chance to look at it can give some impressions. :) --

Edited by: callme tripod on 01/03/2011 20:46:52 I looked around for a few minutes and I noticed some strange stuff. I'm no API pro so the problem could have been on me end but if I didn't mess it up than some things don't look right. Any one who has done this kinda stuff before able to give it a once over?
xx: Oh and I had to go check on the eve search site to get the api information. It was mentioned on page 2 a couple of times. http://eve-search.com/thread/1473067/page/2

- That I was right about not posting a full API key
- That I was right about EULA or at least the forum TOS.
- That what was said in post 91:

The fact of the matter is that CCP also gave players a tool to intentionally expose this information at their discretion to the public at large, with the intentional side effect being the exposure of personal in-game correspondence.
VV, if you are unhappy with CCP's decision to include EvE-mails in the full-api release, I suggest you take it up with them, as opposed to taking it up with other players who are using the tools as provided
revealed to end up how I hoped.
- That not even posting a piece of one of the in game mail would have been condoned (it has been removed from the post). - Auditing & consulting

Jesus christ VV, you want a cookie or something? Someone tell him he was somewhat right already so he'll stop jumping up and down. I'm surprised you didn't post that reply in all caps.
Also, I'd like Zymurgist to show the relevant section of the EULA or forum TOS that he/she applied when making the decision to remove the information. As of right now, it could be Zymurgist opinion that it was a bad idea and not specifically backed up by any written rules/terms.
Personally, I don't care one way or another but I'm glad you at least feel better about sort of winning your argument with those that didn't agree with you.

VV, that is quite a leap.
Although I expect that this thread will get locked for "discussing moderation". I'll simply state that the only "proof" is that CCP appear to consider the API userid and key to be "personal information".
But then they don't allow killmail posting or chatlog posting for basically the same reason.

I mean why release your full api to the entire public when a normal audit would have sufficed?
Also, I approached Breaker77 for an audit but he wasn't back online until the thread had been pulled. I would have approached VV but there seemed to be a conflict of interest.
However, full credit to you for your bold decision, it was amusing if nothing else

Cosmoray,
Just a small suggestion that might avoid the issue next time. Pass your full api through a website which would display all relevant information to users of the website. Set all content (except emails) viewable to public. Have 3rd party confirmation that information displayed by your API is authentic to information displayed by the website.
Would this not avoid the issue then of evemail privacy, api privacy, etc.? Would this not allow all people to view your information relevant to an audit?
Again, just a thought. I could very well be totally off my rocker, but it just seemed like an alternative idea.

It's called attention whoring. It probably means there's something surprising hidden in the data. Of course, a useful API wasn't posted, so it's not like anyone got to look. ______________________________

I have received an EveMail from Cosmoray containing his API details. This was also sent to a number of more respected and well known people (they can announce themselves if they want).
While I would like to audit this I realise that no-one is likely to believe my findings. This conclusion, as well as my lack of RL time and already existing commitments in EVE means that I cannot commit to an official audit (it would also not be as pretty as one of VV's ).
I hope that someone else can complete one as it would be nice to compare it to RAW's (epeen all round ).
Just to let people know - as little as two days ago I was attempting to buy Cosmoray's bonds so you are safe to think I do not believe there is a problem. --

1.) My nick appearing in a screenshot mentioned in a mail in your Inbox.
2.) CCP API is excellent, especially the cache timeouts when multiple folks do request at the same time
3.) You did login 3286 times. You've been logged into EVE/Forum for more than 97 days real time, 100 days "birthday" ahead! Your account already is paid for until July 2012?
4.) Gnomer and Irgazin do use more expensive implants than cosmoray. You're an alt, right? :)

I must confess that this two thread saga has left me somewhat bemused.
Thanks for sending me your API details by mail. However, I'm going to decline for a few reasons.
First off, I simply don't do audits based on one API key. It's all or nothing, and there has to be a rationale for an audit request.
Second, as they say, you get nowt for nowt and the square root of f. all for tuppence. There are no free lunches, especially in EVE.

We learned that the forum mods don't actually know the rules, and just went with whatever tosh VV posted when he reported your thread.
But cosmo, what is your asset value meant to add up to?

I hear rumours that Cosmoray has been giving away billions of isk to random strangers.
He is currently blocked in "Signatures" channel for trying to pull the "I am leaving EVE" scam on noobs yesterday.
Coming from someone who claims to be a rock of financial solidity unmatched on MD, this is quite bizarre. I suppose his bonds have been closed already? ----------------------- "Signatures" trade chatroom / Universal Railways |

I was present and don't believe cosmo was pulling any kind of scam, I can confirm that he gave things away, however.
Giving away things is not a scam, and cosmo was true to anything he said he would do.
Also, he gave back 500 million that were randomly sent to him.
Although I am the first to applaud the ostracizing of scammers, that is not the case in this event.

Definitely not, and I couldn't care less what Cosmo does with his isk.
I am just asking (because I haven't been following MD much): has he paid out all his liabilities at this point? If I had invested billions in a bond and saw that person sit in Jita giving away isk, Curzon Dax-style, I wold find it.... interesting.
It's just a heads up to the public from me about apparent bizarre behaviour. Maybe there's nothing to it, and Cosmoray can just step forward and explain what he has going on. ----------------------- "Signatures" trade chatroom / Universal Railways |

Not quite sure why Cosmo sent his details to me. I do not do audits because I am a technological incompetent and have no idea how to go about the procedure. I'm happy to pay someone else to do one though as the teasers so far have me interested.

Fine, I'll see what I can do after work today. It might take a few days to get the API data though depending how many people are trying to pull it.
TBH, I could really care less, but it seems that everyone else wants it done and no one is willing to do it.
