Or, maybe (s)he? feels that it is more profitable now to use the higher capital to trade with and pay a cut than just using personal assets.
But, this does beg the question... at this point, couldn't you just issue a long term trading bond and pay out monthly dividends? It would be less administrative work for you and I think you have enough MD rep points for it to work.

Just quoting myself from bond thread #5.
And chipping in with something new: 7 bonds and still not self sufficient/wealthy enough to cough this up yourself?
Wut..

What do you mean by self-sufficient?
As I see it, a trader's goal is to continue accumulating more and more capital - which means that as long as the rate of borrowing is below the rate of return, then it's always logical to continue borrowing.

I was self-sufficient the moment I logged in with my 5000 isk. With more capital, however, I can make greater returns. So if I can earn more isk (and have actual fun by doing meta stuff like market manip. / speculation), why not open a bond?
Plus, I love the satisfaction of continually proving naysayers wrong by, you know, not actually being a scammer. Keep at it.

I could certainly do that and it'd be much easier on myself in terms of liquidation and administration. I tried opening a perpetuity once, but it was a bad idea and didn't get anywhere (in fact, half the text for this bond I copy pasted from that original thread )
People may not be playing EVE in 12 months or 6 months or whatever undetermined length of time. So I try to run bonds that are paid back relatively quick so investors can get their interest + principal without hopefully getting bored in the meantime. Even 1 month is a long time when we're talking games.

This is the first bond to in and of itself be over 10B :) I'm still right, neener neener neener.
I'll still be more than willing to be surprised though, go prove me wrong.

Could you increase my reservation to 2 B ? I just found some mats I needed to liquidate and wanted to put that ISK to good use.
Also, I'd be game if you wanted to offer a perpetuity or take out a Lando Line of Credit.

Edited by: Liberty Eternal on 06/03/2011 07:33:39 CP, just a few questions for you:
You launched your first bond on the 8th June 2010. On post 22 you stated your NAV to be -
Originally by: Cheque Please Somewhere around 700m, I'd say. Maybe a bit more... maybe another 100m to 150m...
By 28th June, 20 days later, on post 129 you claimed your NAV had increased to
Originally by: Cheque Please Now I estimate myself around 6b...
And then by 7th July in post 144 the audit stated
Originally by: Vaerah Vahrokha
Estimated grand total: 10.225 Billion ISK
On bond number 6, 2nd February 2011 Breaker77 stated in his audit on post 19 that -
Originally by: Breaker77 Total Corp NAV of 20,095,238,189
So to summarise your NAV -
8th June 2010 - 700 million 28th June 2010 - 6 billion 7th July 2010 - 10.2 billion
Giving an increase in one month of 9.5 billion. Your NAV then increased to
2nd February 2011 - 20 billion
Giving over the 7 months between July and February an average monthly increase of 1.44 billion.
So the questions I have are
1.) Are my above statements an accurate summary of your NAV development?
2.) Did you give an accurate and true initial statement of your NAV on 8th June 2010 when you claimed a NAV of 700 million?
3.) If these are accurate statements, then how do you account for the massive discrepancy in your trading profits whereby you seem to have made 9.5 billion isk in your first month of trading, yet only made an average of 1.44 billion isk in each month of trading after that?
Thanking you in advance for your answer

HLM #6 has been out.
As per discussion, the length of the bond has been changed to 2 months.
There's 500m open if anyone wants to buy in soonish (within the next day), but I'm going to go ahead and start regardless.
To those on the reservation, send me you're isk (to Cheque Please) when you get a chance and I'll send you back shares. Thanks! --- RL Meeting w/ Chribba

It costs nothing to assume an investment is a scam (assuming you dont invest in it of course).
Yet if you assume every investment that you are not a part of, statistically speaking, you will be able to claim that for a significant % of the time you were correct.
MD really does seem to be a total cesspool of trolls these days. Yes there are risks in every investment. Yes these risks need to be minimized (but as we all know can never be eliminated).
As an investor with a total (unaudited) NAV of over 100b I can safely say that these risks are factored in to every investment I make. And yet I still invest - why? Because the opportunity of return outweighs the potential loss unless a significant proportion (say over 50%) turn out to be scams.

Oh come now, I was just bringing a little light hearted tinfoil hattery to the thread ;) I did warn Cheque I would bring up the scam nonsense next time he runs a bond. He has paid a lot of money to investors since beginning, I am sure they are very happy with it to date.
You are right though MD is a bit of a pit lately, it's why I am taking a little bit of a less serious effort with bonds now - if people invest and get scammed it's their choice, as you say some people invest and it pays off also. For me MD is just a place to debate and discuss the market now, I will leave the policing to Sheriff Kalrand.
