my two favorite ships are the hulk and the basilisk. they suffer from the same problem. they don't have enough ehp.
i think that we there should be a new kind of logistics ship that projects shield hit points, intead of repairing damage.
there's two problems i can think of with this new kind of ship.
1: there is no armor counterpart. it makes some sense that a shield could be powered up by another ship, but it does not makes sense that additional armor plating could be put on another ship. i think the best solution to this problem would be to make the armor counterpart be resistance boosting, as that has the end result of ehp boosting.
2: i'm concerned about some guys all piling shield extenders on their ships to supertank them. therefore, i think that the shields should not stack in a 1+1=2 manner, but more in a 1+1=1.5 and 3=1.75 in order to prevent ridiculous tanks from being applied to ships.
any further ideas, suggestions, or critisims?

They're called Command Ships? ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

I disagree with the first and agree with the second as I have no idea what the OP is on about either.
Its not command ships that give bonuses to HP. It is leadership. Command ships will boost resists and active tanking and remote repping though. Unless they are gallente and minmatar.

If you ask me boosting shield resist is another way of getting more EHP and that is what the OP is trying to achieve.
And it seems he want a stacking penalty on shield extenders. ---------------------------------- None of yet! |

I was merely pointing out that the hp bonus was from leadership. And that resists were from warfare links on command ships, carriers, Supercaps, and T3 cruisers with command subsys.
And what the OP seems to be on about is not Shield extenders needing to be stacking nerfed.. He mentioned it as a problem with his suggestion of projecting HP.. Im guessing that either he wants to project shield hp from multiple ships/modules or it is as you say about shield extenders needing a nerf if combined with his ship idea...
But gang bonuses are only applied once. So it wouldnt be necessary to stacking nerf shield extenders even if this unnecessary was introduced.

i guess i wasent clear the first time, sorry bout that.
i want modules that increase total shield amount on someone else's ship that would have stacking penalties to reduce their effectivness with numbers but which would not affect the shield extending modules already on the ship.
i want modules that increase armor resistances with a stacking penalty similar to the remote shield extenders described above.
i want a new variety of logistics ship specializing in these modules, or just add bonuses to these modules to the existing logistics ships.
the purpose of these modules are to increase the ehp on somone else's ship. the reson i proposed remote shield extenders instead of remote shield hardeners is because i wanted to widen the difference between shields and armor. it does not make sense that you could remotly extend armor, so i thought that remote hardeners for armor made more sense and would maintain the realative balance between the two tank types.
/joke i think that we should have a module increasing ehp in hull too, but i can't figure out how that wold work.

It's almost relevant, but when I first read the words Shield Transporter, I thought that it did kinda what you're asking for, transported my shield to somebody else, so I could theoretically send my unhardened useless shielding to somebody with shield hardners and buff them up.
Boy did I laugh when I found out it was a repper instead!
Well actually I didn't laugh at all, I just went "oh, ok." but ya know... for a moment there, I could have laughed... maybe... oh stop judging me...
Anyway, while I'm sure it has some merit, it's not barbie dolls in stations is it? No, no it is not. NEXT!

Command ships give more EHP, which is what the OP feels he's lacking. They do so both through the skills required to use the relevant modules at all and through the modules themselves. But ok, sureà
They're called Command Ship, Battlecruisers, T3 command modules, Industrial command ships, Capital industrial ships, Supercarriers, and Titans. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |
