Have to agree with the one above, love the graphics and the combat-system.
Overall it feels like it's been done more and more for consols, or faster/easier to run on the ps3/xbox then the original DA, which makes it a tad more "shallow" on the PC.
Got the Signature Edition and would do it again

First off, playing on a xbox 360 so I have no idea about graphic quality of it on pc and I stay away from DLC unlockables etc for atleast the first month.
That said, I'm liking the game so far (only about 1/3 of the way through it). Alot of the things I've seen people complaining about are things I like. Inventory, sorting through hundreds of crap items to find something worth using? Not anyomre, junk goes to junk and sell it all at a vendor. Graphics are nice on console. For the most part the game is interesting and much more fun to play with the new combat system.
If you want to play dress up with your team members, talk to every npc in the world, run around exploring every tree, this isn't the game for you. There are some characters from the first game that make appearances that I've seen, but few are exactly the same as they were in DA:0.
Guess the easiest way to describe the experiance (in bioware terms?) is to treat it as a whole different story taking place on the citadel while the mass effect crew are doing the reapers bit.
I have my complaints, text size, maps are repetative, and the camera can be difficult at times. But, nothing that makes me want to run around screaming this is the worst game ever. Overall, I'd give it a 8/10 so far... It's fun, entertaining, and has a great story going on within it. But, there's nothing world changing about it. I reserve the right to change my opinion till after i finish the game. Speaking of, back to playing

I tentatively disagree with this. Altho I've only had time to put ~6h into this game, I found that it has the first cast that I have found to be genuinely interesting since, oh, Planescape: Torment times (<3 Fall-From-Grace and Morte).

This bit is starting to wear on me. Very annoying and just plain lazy level design.
It's a bit obvious at one point in the development process a wealthy guy in a suit said "well we can easily shave some costs off here" and cut corners on art/level design.
I'm still enjoying the game, but there is no excuse for copypasta dungeons.
People don't ignore something like that and I'm not sure why in the wide world of sports they would take a product that has such potential and give it such a glaring ugly side.
As they've already got my money I will be doing my civic duty and not giving them one red cent more. I'll be sure to pirate any DLC.

The graphics are worse than DA:O, especially the environment graphics and the character animations are worse to, and some of the dialogue and voice acting is so bad it makes Mark Meer from ME seem like Sean Pertwee.
Originally by: Alonzo Harris This is the first Bioware game in a while where I quit playing after 30 minutes.
+1 for this I felt the same way and stopped playing just after I got into Kirkwall and started playing Dawn of War II Retribution again, other than the bad graphics and dialogue I do not know why I cannot get into it but I just cant.

Come on, I couldn't stand playing Mass Effect with a male Shep, I just had to quit mid-play and restart as femShep, as it was getting too much on my nerves. If the voice acting in DA2 is THAT bad... ouch. _

From the Male Hawke it is IMO, the delivery is just flat and dead and none of the sentences really link together and the fact that some of the writing is very out of place and cliche makes it much worse.
Imagine an important character dieing and then Hawke responding in emotionless monotone "we must press on" after his sister just got mashed by an Ogre, Mark Meer did at least manage to get a semblance of emotion in major plot scenes. In all honesty I think its some of the worst writing and voice acting Bioware have ever done.

I don't think I've ever played a Bioware game where the voice acting is all that great.
Or the face gestures.
Or the body language.
Or any acting in them at all.

Lol, DA2 voice acting male/female comparison. Contrast ME1 male/female comparison. See line by line past half of the clip. Heh.

I don't think the DA II female voice over is much better after listening to that, both sound very detached from the scene.

In ME2 I found the non-lead voice actors miles better than the Shepard one, be it male or female.

You're utterly out of your mind if you think DA:O trumps DA2 in the graphics department. What are you trying to run it on? a 7950GT?
That being said, a Bioware marketing director stated that the environments in DA2 use a very similar color palette whereas DA:O used a varied, vibrant one (video somewhere on Youtube, I cba to find it). They did it to promote a sense of cohesion because you are within a very close geographic location to everything else, whereas Ferelden was an entire country. I get what they were trying to do, whether or not they succeeded is left to the consumer's personal taste.
I won't deny that the voice acting is detached, but saying it's worse than the train wreck known as male Shepard is a hell of an exaggeration. |

Try and defend the cloned instance maps. ;p
That was pretty much either lazy devs or a ridiculous schedule.
Also, cohesion is a good thing, but personally i can't stand the brown and greys EVERYWHERE. It's Gears of War all over again.

Check these out:-
DA:O
DA II
Look at how fluid the character animations are in the first game and compare it to how jerky and unfeasible they are in the second and then check out the lack of lighting FX in the sequel to and there is no interaction between lighting and shadows on the characters and the environment doesn't look like a wasteland it just looks like they forgot to switch out the testing phase placeholder map with the release one as its just a dull brown colour with no real features, I admit the textures on the characters are a little sharper but everything else is worse.
Go and look at the difference between Orzammar and Kirkwall if you still cant see it, almost zero lighting FX in Kirkwall as well.

Man... I was aware Bioware had moved away from the BG / Planescape gameplay I enjoyed so much, but that video makes DA's gameplay look like God of War with some of WoW's skill button whack-a-mole action thrown in. Way over the top too. Not impressed, meh.

I've noticed the male Shep' voice acting is better in most of the renegade dialogue while fem Shep's works better as paragon for some reason: Male Shep' being a jerk Female Shep' being a *****
