Yes. Yes it is. Because the game totally needs another unprobable, hyper mobile and (as a frigate) cheap gang link ship. _________________________________

So give it a sensor strength of 1.
Personally I would like to see a T2 logistics frigate. Or at least that role put into T3 frigates.

Edited by: Twilight Runner on 09/03/2011 16:02:09 no we have command ships, nothing stopping people using the frig version instead of the BC version in fleets , unless u plan on them having seriously reduced effects

ok why do we need command ship frigs?
we have super fast tackle frigs (interceptors) we have frigs that hit like battleships (bombers) we have cloaky/warpy frigs (Cov ops) we have E war frigs we have fast moving, hard to hit bee swarm frigs (assault frigs) and with the many many many different fits you can throw on a t1 frig, you can have it do anything from tackle, mission, salvage, gank, or just screw around with not worrying if you're gonna lose it cause they're so damn cheap.
in fact, frigs fill more roles then any other class of ship in eve. the only thing frigs don't do well is mine and snipe
So again I ask. Why do we need command ship frigs?

t2 the fleet issue ship since it has no teching
hookbill -> Pelican or Parrot/****atoo? or maybe something dinosaurish like Raptor/Pterodactyl
slicer -> Reaver firetail -> Hotbutt and gallente deathtrap or spacecoffin?
squadron command ship wing command ship
bonus: allows frig squad leaders to ganglink tracking and distance to their squad or wingmates
it would obviously be available in Faction/MIlitia Store and probably a good tradable moneymaker on the market so Good Idea!
but while we are at it we might as well make command ships for all types
Command Frig Command Industrial Command Cruiser Command Battlecruiser Command Battleship Command Capital Command Drones? Command Probes that Tell the other Probes how to probe Command Missiles?

You are aware of the subtle difference between "We need" and "I want", right?
As a primarily frigate/cruiser pilot I must way I have never needed a CC, nor have I really wanted it. You could just slap it on half the AF's as their 4th bonus though .. similar to what BC's get.
What I do want and what I think Eve needs, is a frigate sized logistics boat .. T1, not T2 mind you. With the imminent removal of the tier system (a girl can dream!) retooling the useless mining frigates to wield range bonused small rr would work beautifully.

Snarpy.... Enough said... (snarpy = rail fitted harpy 120DPS @ 70+40km)
But you are right about frigs filling all the roles, I had been in null for a bit and had used only a manticore and rifter and have been on no less than 6-8 killmails in that few weeks...

Anything lacking in the cheap and sleazy bc setups that needs frigs to do this op?. Every race has link running bc's. No bonuses...but easy as hell to get into to run 1 link. Want more, train that mod to add em.
Want bonuses, pick your poison: t3 or cs (or orca, no combat bonus but fits 3 links that don't have to be mining ones lol).
Also the issue of your command ships generally are meant to be somewhat resilient. Fleet booster not very effective when jumped by 2 afs and popped in 3 seconds. Which is what would happen (1 hostile vulture on grid...let you guess who fc puts up high on the kill now list). Or were you planning on ninjya'ing them in system and sit off a moon. Eve has this already...called unprobable t3 command sub'd. Even fits bubble nullifier for 0.0 use.

I like the idea of a command frig, but there is very little use for one. It just makes for an obvious first target and ultimately ends up being killed first and being useless. If your frig gank isn't working, it's better to just get more frig pilots.

VanNostrum Fit a nano Hurricane, cheap and agile fleet booster. EVE needs some more important things.
XXSketchxx Worm and Ishkur with remote rep drones are good as logistics frigates.
