I'm going to open up by saying that I'm generally a fairly laid back guy. You probably won't be able to tell that from this post because I'm going to try to be very concise. Finding a corp that is going to be a good fit for me, and where I'm a good fit for the corp is very important, so if I sound like an ass in this post don't assume that's how I am all the time, just trying to make all of our lives easier. Also, if you just copy/pasta a generic "check our corp out!" message I'll assume you didn't read this and ignore it.
This recruitment post will be broken into several parts detailing
- Who I am out of game
- What I am looking for in a corp/alliance
- What I like to do in game
- Skill highlights
- Who I am out of game
- I am a father, a husband, and a full time IT professional. All three of those things are more important to me than EVE. If, at any time, something comes up where I have to choose between game responsibilities and RL responsibilities, RL will win. Sorry, but that's just how I roll. I know most corps and alliances feel the same way, but there are others out there who don't, and if this is a deal breaker for you then we aren't a good match for each other.
- I live in the US, in the eastern time zone. I'm generally going to be online from 6pm - midnight EST.
- I am a facilitator. I very much like to feel like I've contributed to the overall success of a project or goal. You'll start to see what this translates into game-wise in the later "What I like to do in game" section.
- I have a very strong sense of responsiblity. Given the opportunity I may take ownership of projects. I'm not looking to jump into a responsibility heavy position right away. Please don't contact me because you're looking for a POS manager. I can do that, but I'm not interested in something like that unless I feel like I'm having a lot of fun flying with you guys.
- I follow orders. If an FC declares a doctrine for a fleet, I will follow it if I can. If I cannot fly anything in the doctrine I will present what I can fly and ask the FC to choose what they want. If they don't want any of that and I have to sit out, I won't boo hoo. I won't flake out on an FC just because our fleet welps a couple of times. FCing is a big responsibility and a hard role. Even the best FC is going to lose some fights. If the alliance/corp has said 'This is the guy who's running the show' then I'm going to stick behind that decision.
- What I am looking for in a corp/alliance
- As stated in the thread title, I'm mainly looking for a null sec or WH corp/alliance. I'm not interested in care-bearing, or "anti-carebearing". I think FW is cool, but I'm bored with the FW metagame. I'm a carrier pilot, so high/low sec really just aren't good fits for me anyways. If our group wants to go tool around in high/low for kicks, that's fine by me. I am KOS in Amarr and Caldari space because of past FW activities, so don't expect me to fly around their space if it is avoidable.
- I want the corp/alliance to be fairly established. This doesn't mean "class A alliances only". I also don't care for renting. Like I said, I'm not interested in carebearing. I don't really like the term 'Pet', but I am open to being in a corp/alliance that maintains that sort of relationship to a larger, class-A alliance.
- I want the leadership to be firm on their positions and goal oriented. At the same time, it is important that I feel there is a mutual investment. Read: 'Great team w/ strong leadership' > 'queen bee with a bunch of drones'.
- I am not interested in drama. I simply don't have enough time to waste on it. When people have issues they can take it up the chain, and respect the leadership's decision. I do not want to listen to people whine when something doesn't go their way. That's life, man up and get over it.
- I like to have fun. I'm fine with chatting it up and chilling out in chat channels. When it comes time for business, though, let's get serious.
- What I like to do in game
- As I mentioned earlier, I'm a facilitator. I like to fly support roles. I'm interested in scouting, tackling, logistics, e-war, interdiction, and that sort of thing. I don't generally fly pure DPS ships. If that's what's asked for, though, I'll do my best to deliver.
- I've done a lot of different activities in the game. I have experience in high, low, and null. No real WH experience, but I'm interested if it's the right fit. I've done missions, FW, small alliance, medium alliance, small gang, blob, corp administration, asset management... I've really been all over the place. These days I'm mainly interested in PvP.
- PvP wise I really enjoy pick-up defense fleets. Gate camps are boring, but I understand they can be important in specific situations. Same goes for structure grinding. I'm happy to roam around.
