Well, think about it...
If there is real money involved for everyone, just imagine how much much more competitive this universe could get...
Also, those with half a brain, CCP included, could get filthy rich in the process.
Some kind of hotfile/fileserve type of reward where you get paid real dollars for doing something wrong or completely useless.

And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins, As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn, The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return

And turn eve into a gambling site? Goodbye all the under 21s.
At the very minimum you'd be invoking some kind of tax situation.

allow capitals to enter high space... send in scout, use cyno fire useless dreadnought lasers at hulks, defeat concord with supercarriers, destroy capital station with titan cyno warp away
or do you mean rebalance ships where frigs and cruisers are actually useful and not everyone uses bcs, bses and capitals to kill other people
or do you mean make weapons actually able to destroy opponents with dps instead of everyone sitting around shielding and nano regenerating like paladins and death knights

I don't mean any of those things... Thank you, come again.

do you mean the bots that mine (hulks, orcas with 12 mackarels botting for them) or the bots that rat and salvage (battleships)?
or do you mean the people that spam the 1 trit for 70000000 ISK... yeah those guys would die and you collect the bounty reward when your Titan or Mom blows up the station they are afking in (which they never leave and are completely safe and secure until CCP allows you to bring supercaps into high sec and destroy stations)

It's already legal. If you get caught, it's a 1 day temp ban. Those days, if you do not turn on a bot on your non-playing time in one of the bigger sov null alliances, you're not meeting your obligations which include contribute tax. Start running bots.

The richer people get the value of money is a lot less. If everyone has 10 billion then it won't be worth a lot anymore. Then the prices of items would drastically increase making it very difficult for new players or those who choose not to use bots play the game.
Eventually things will cost so much that nobody uses the market anymore and instead simply make the things they need. This will essentially kill PVE and PVP as in order to get ships people will have to become carebears.
If bots were allowed EVE would turn into a space mining game. Which would suck.

Although Im not a fan of botters, you have to be honest and look at the facts
Mining and Market bots are not much of a game threat in terms of Isk generated, any Isk they generate for the owner, is already in the game market, and they are simply obtaining it with the bot
Mission and Ratting bots however are the real threat as the Isk they earn for their owner is not already in the game and is obtained from thin air (Mission rewards and bounties for those who need to be told)
So in retrospect, some bots are worse than others for the economy, but they shouldnt really exsist in the first place

mining bots set the price of tritanium ccp/blueprints sets the amount of tritanium to make a ship manufacurers/traders set the price of a ship
these 3 factors control the market and everything to do with the game

I hate to say it but this is right. Right now CCP doesn't seem to be highly motivated to stop the bots and from the threads I've read many players are not either. It's sad really. Botting is cheating and it drives down prices for everything in the game.
I guess CCP considers it to be a non issue because noobs and PvP focused players get the lower prices while we honest industrialist are the ones who suffer the effects of unfair competition.
