Has anyone else experienced the following symptoms?
Lack of login desire Station spinning Only clicking enough to update training Logging into comms then back off Not replying to o/ or "Hey!" Unwillingness to pew pew Broken tear extractor More time spent in front of TV than computer
If so, please tell me how to fix what I've got. I pay for the game, I keep my training going so obviously I still care, but playing for any length of time seems to bore me. What can I do to heal myself?

Set up a long skill, like 3 weeks or a month. Do not log in during that time. After you've done with the skill, see if you have desires to do more than ship spinning. If you don't have, take a longer break.
Alternatively try something different. If there's something you haven't tried, try it. EVE has quite a lot to offer.

EOH poker, gambling your isk is awesome, feels like real money but doesn't really hurt if you lose your a**
Create noob dessy alt and gank some retrievers
Mix your activites together (play eve while watching tv, play eve and a single player game on a consol, etc)
FInd blobs in 0.0 fights and drop void bombs at random
Find a better ship to pvp
troll the forums
Do something worthwhile (fight for a cause)

Edited by: Mutnin on 11/03/2011 02:06:08 Try something new for a while. I've kinda been in the same situation in the past, but it was more so due to lack of targets or in-activity of people I was flying with.
Personally, I just decided to go do other things and went back to how I started the game in my own corp with a few friends I've known since I started and just do what ever.
I will say having a alt or two will help as it gives you opportunity to do different things. Hell I'm giving invention a try, something I thought I'd never do. I'm also considering grinding up my sec status to hit Empire and maybe war dec some big corp/alliances for the hell of it. (never actually war dec'd anyone before, so it's something new to me)
Simplest, thing is to either take a break or try stuff you have never tried.

Edited by: Acktose5123 on 11/03/2011 04:57:57 When I get bored, I tend to spend a lot of isk on lolfit ships, and attempt to gank someone Other than that, I find that playing Team Fortress 2 for awhile to mix it up helps |

Whenever we get burnout, we do something stupid, like the Amamake Defense Force, Hulkageddon or the recent inter-corp pirate phallus fleet.

Edited by: Misunderstood Genius on 11/03/2011 09:34:35 Yes, I know the EVE burnout very well. Last night I lost my ship in 1 minute and it took hours to get a new one because I was just tired of it. I am tired of making ISK ingame for ages now. I am tired of paying for GTC time by time. I just was sitting at the PC, staring at my thousands of assets worth 30bil spread over 100 stations around the universe, running to Jita or Dodixie again because it makes more sense to buy stuff intead of collecting the mods and move them to one place. I was bored and blocked some bot scammer (what is senseless ofc) and I started again to realize that CCP made a major mistake: the game's social and economy system is too close to RL. In RL your drug is money. In EVE your drug is ISK. Money needs time. Time is money. ISK needs time. ISK wastes RL time. RL is too much fragmented these days. I have 5 exciting things I want to do but I can't decide what of them I want to do. Because all of them I can't do. So I log into EVE again and have the impression that it's a real sub-life, a second life indeed.
The issue about a burnout is that it's a result over months or years and you can't get rid of this just by taking a short break. The best solution would be: sell your char and do something more important like earning RL money, making kids, meeting friends ... doing the good ole 70th/80th social life style. Times without internet and communication overkill was not that bad?!
But tbh: I am not ready yet to terminate my accounts :-D

Either force yourself to try something new or step away from internet spaceships for a while.
Trying something new could be new shiptypes, tactics or simply moving from familiar territory. Having to learn the idiosyncrasies of new systems and routes, setting up scan/warp in points etc can breathe life into the game.
Being on a losing streak can also be demoralising so try to fix that somehow (not implying this is the case but it can kill your wish to log in).
Jump out of those +5's and go suicidal in 0.0 in cheap frigs winning an isk war against bad tacklers.
Often its just burnout and leaving the game (and forums, vids etc) ENTIRELY for 2 weeks or more can spark the interest again.

Log in - sit cloaked in a safesport hitting the scanner button every 10 minutes inbetween games of World of Tanks.
Make a care bear alt and go mining/mission running
make a nub alt and sit outside jita, remote rep the people who are winning the fight just to **** off the person losing even more and if you are reading this you have reached the signature without noticing. |

I'm in the same situation. Got carrier 5 training on one account even though I don't own a carrier and am not in a 0.0 alliance just so I don't have to check it for 2 months or whatever.
I parted out and sold my 5bil nightmare to pay for both my accounts for the next whatever amount of time and I just have no will to login. I enjoy reading the forums though.
My problem is I don't want to leave friends to do new things but I'm never online anyways so I'm just undecided. ----------- |

Maybe you are just tired of playing Eve? Time to move on or take a break and see if it gets better when you come back.
Oh and... If you leave can I have your stuff?

It happens when you play any game too much. I've been playing Eve since 2003 but not for seven years straight (that's why I've only got 50m SP instead of 120m). When you start spinning in station it's probably time to take a six month break .
