Edited by: Frantelle on 13/03/2011 10:07:38 Hey my friend and i have recently moved into 0.0 space and looking to get into sanctums and complex's. We have been doing some research but still cant find any good fitting and ship advice (Well ones that dont require close to a bil isk in modules and ships)
I can currently fly Minmatar BC/BS/HAC/Command ships. My mate flys Amarr BC/BS/HAC/Command Ships aswell , Also cross trained into Minmatar BC/BS.
What setups should we use to to tank and dps to make it effective.
If you do reply with advice on fittings and such please dont have fully fitting faction ships, we just dont have the isk to afford it (although that could change with a few good drops!)
Really appreciate any help with this.

Copy pasta from the previous 3 thread's I have posted this in....
I run serpentis sanctums in a navy apoc and carrier. The easy one (Ring sanctum), you will need approximately 500-600 dps to be able to "tank" the sanctum. My tank slowly breaks on the final wave but take out a battleship or two and it is fine. The reason an ishtar can tank 600 dps and be fine is because it also speed / sig tanks. With the sig radius of a battleship, you need a higher tank. For the hard sanctum, the station one, even with a 1100 dps tank my tank can break (Dual rep, 3 hardners). This is due to the non-linear trigger structure of some of the waves, ie its not always the last ship killed. In terms of isk per hour, they can both net around the same isk / hour, which is around 50-60m / hour in pure bounties.
My friend flies a sleipnir for both havens, and the easy sanctum. He has around a 600 dps semi-perma tank, but is overtanked due to being able to speed tank.
As for deadspace complexes, bring a friend/alt. Unless you can fly a tengu, the sheer amount of dps that they can put out can be a bit insane. I've had a 1400 dps tank break before on a dommie before (x5 hardners, 2 LAR). The amount of dps you can put out really only determines how long it will take to kill everything. As long as you can put out 600 dps between all characters, you can pretty much do any deadspace complex, assuming you can tank it.
Long story short, amarr ships work very well assuming you can use T2 guns (Apoc or navy apoc if you have BS 5, possibly an abaddon otherwise), Sleipnir or a cane works very well. **** drakes, they suck.

Whilst i appreciate your comments, we can neither fly the Ishtar nor do we have the isk to throw into a faction ship.
Would the apoc with normal T2 fittings be able to handle the sanctums/plex's or maybe the Minmatar version? a Tempest or Maelstrom..

I would stick with command ships or battleships. Its worth noting you can warp in at range, so you can often make your life much easier by using long range turrets to snipe the frigs and damping cruisers before they get close. You may want to consider a sensor booster due to damping issues. If you take on the sanctums together you should make good speed, however if you're solo and find yourself competing for sanctums with t3's, marauders, or ratting carriers, I would advise you skip the sanctums and do hubs and havens instead.
as for complexes, a tanked afterburner fit sacrilege or munnin should be okay, but it won't be as efficient due to not quite having the best resists compared to say an ishtar or cerberus. Beware of neuting towers. EC-P8R... You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. |

Seriously...
Maybe you should get your CEO to come hold your hand while you dip your toes into the tearpit that is these horribly scary sanctums.

Edited by: Frantelle on 14/03/2011 03:20:47 I've been on EFT working on a few ship fittings, these are what i have been able to come up with.
Sleipnir
Lows : 2 x Gyrostabs II 2 x Tracking Enhancers II 1 x Damage Control II
Mids: 1 x 10MN AB 1 x Ballistic Deflection Field II 1 x Heat Dissipation Field II 1 x Shield Boost Amp II 1 x Large Shield Booster II (maybe lower to Medium Shield Booster??)
Highs: 7 x 425MM AC II
Rigs: 1 x Med Anti-Therm 1 x Med Anti-Kin
Stats: 85.4% Therm 82.5% Kin 40K EHP Cap Stable if the booster is not running.
Vagabond
Lows: 2 x Gyro's II 2 x Tracking Enhancer II 1 x Damage Control II
Mids: 1 x 10MN AB 1 x Ballistic Field II 1 x Heat Field II 1 x Large Shield Booster II (again maybe lower to Medium??)
Highs: 5 x 220MM AC's
Rigs: 1 x Med Anti-Kin I 1 x Med Core Extender I
STATS: 84.3% Therm 82.5% Kin 16.5K EHP (Kinda low) Cap stable without the booster
Maelstrom
Lows: 2 x Gyros II 2 x Tracking Enhancers II 1 x Damage Control II
Mids: 1 x X-Large Shield Booster II 2 x Heat Dissipation Field II 1 x Ballistic Deflection Field II 1 x Invul Field II 1 x Shield Booster Amp II
Highs: 6 x 800MM Repeating Artillery II
Rigs: 3 x Large Core Defence Field Extender I
STATS: 86.4% Therm 82.5% Kin 87K EHP Cap Stable without the booster
They are all kinda the same..
Would really appreciate some input.. Thanks!

Pulse Abaddon + Arty Maelstrom would seem to be a pretty good paring. The baddon can be fitted with an awseome cap-booster tank (serps drop LOT of cap boosters IIRC) and still provide very good DPS, whilst the Mael can be gank-fitted, loaded up with PP L and finiosh whatever the baddon starts.
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |
