Ok, it's been a while since I last did some serious ratting and I know the rats did warp SOMETIMES, but now it's seems to happen...a lot. I know they have...immunity against warp jammers (I've had a scram on them and they still jump). I've seen this happen like 5-10 times last night. Sometimes 2x frigs 1xBS all jump at the same time in the middle of battle. Before I had like once or twice in a night, but now it's happening constantly.
Did they change/nerf something with the mechanics of beltrat warping?

I must say I don't really get the point of it. From the game design view. I can understand that they warp out if they are damaged (but they sometimes warp out even when they aren't...yet...in trouble). Nothing fundamentally wrong with that, but warping out with a scram or bubble. That's just faulty game mechanics in my opinion. AND it also causes the hamsters some stress...why have it? and why have it so that it's not functioning like normal ones. I think one should be able to scram them.

I used to hunt hauler spawns and they'd warp away all the time; so I starting fitting warp disruptors only to find out they do nothing... sad.
Oh yeah, about my sig... you have now read it.

ok most of the replys in this thred got it partialy wrong...
1- all belt rats can warp 2-hauler spawns have a high chance of warping then DEspawning aftertaking damage 3-faction rats have a vary small chnace of warping an DEspawning
NORMAL RATS: ok these guys will spawn and remain in a system untill they are killed because of the way that a system spawn count is worked out (equal to half the number of system belts rounded up) they will warp to other belts, they will do this all day. a spawn warp priority is
top: empty belt secondary: gate turciary: station (this variable is almost never produced)
beacon spawns ans TRUE gate spawns dont count towards a systems total allowable spawn count, and dont warp to other places.
a true gate spawn will appear on a gate and can be chained BUT it has a high chance of just DEspawning on the spot
KNOWN ISSUEL there is an issue that caused belt rats to WMD off grid, thisis an ongoing issue and if it ocurs then a systems dpawn count will be -1 untill the spawn reaches its destination belt of warps. this is how people find rats in there SS's
FACTION: these bad guys will only warp out if they are enguaged and suvive (you have left and they are alone on a grid) the will normaly fight to the death, the have a small chance of warping around. they nowmaly spawn as a replacment ship in a particulor spawn (they will not appear in chained spawns) you must kill a spawn to get a chance at a faction spawn.
hauler spawns: these little nuggets of fun are an extra spawn to a system. they will warp around and if the spawn has been in conflict with a player entity then the haulers will more than likley warp out and despawn (if they aint already dead) the escorts will act as a normal belt spawn once the haulers have been destroyed or have warped and despawned, so thats +1 system spawn for you
officers: cant say i have never seen one to our departed friend EDD "april 09" fly true man |
