Hi Y'all..
I dont know if this topic have been 'up' before, or somethin similar, but here is my suggestion..
"Coorporative Research & Production"
When a player sets up a research topic, that be ME/PE/Invention etc. I think a cool feature would be an option to 'hire' research assistants..
example.
I set up a 23 days ME run, and allows Corporation Asisstants(could also be either 'Public','Private' or 'Alliance') sets a reward fee that I will pay any assistant for helpin me. (lets say 1000 isk/hour)
Then anyone within my corp, who has free research slots, can accept the research job, help shorten the research time of my project, and get paid at the same time..
The reduction of research time should ofcause be calculated from the research skills of the assistant', and a mathematical limit to how many assistants you could hire on a given project, kinda like upgrade modules on a ship.
Assistant #1 gains like 30% reduction (If max research skills) Assistant #2 gains 15%. Assistant #3 gains 7.5% and #4's 3.75% (Or close to none)
Well i'll leave the math to those who does that for a livin, but I think I have made the point.
a new skillsbook for the player who sets up the research contracts seem inevitable, or just tie it into either Research Project Management or Advanced Laboratory Operations
Am I just off my hinges on this ideah

i must say i dont know the impact on the marked, i mean first it may raise the prices of minerals if the demand is higher, but then again, more ships and moduls will flood the marked and lower prises on them....
but overall i think it is a great way to give even more multiplayer exprients to the game so go for it

Not sure that it would impact on mineral prizes, but only the speed of how fast you research your bpo's.
But if you need like 4 assistants with full research skills in order to half your research time, only players that do not own bpo's themselves would take on such assistant jobs, but if you have some bpo's of your own, your research time would be much more worth doin those..
I'm not sure how many would use such a feature, but in my book it's a feature I would really love to have in the game..
and will it expand my interaction with other players to a new level, then it would be yet another win-win situation.

Think you are incorrect Sir.
Actually the cost of building ships will increase if you do it this way, as you would have to calculate the fee into the equation..
Also the time issue of you statement is incorrect.
one player settin' up a capital armor plate research, and tie in additional 4 researches with full research in order to cut the research time by 50%, will not in any way compeete with the 5 guys each researchin, copying or building thier own blueprint full time..
