Originally by: Burnharder Retribution needs another mid-slot imho. It's pretty useless for anything other than mooching around ratting.
Retribution is fine as is, but if they take the utility hi out for a 2nd mid, that might work... but then the Retribution will be worse off overall.
Why not just give the retri another turret hardpoint and the fittings to use it? It's supposed to bring damage, and the wolf currently outdamages it. Rather disappointing, to be honest.

Afterburner on all frigates is barely viable and for them to be more useful as close range tackle it really needs to be better. It's fine once you get into range but getting into range when MWD cruisers go 50% faster than AB frigs is a big problem.
Dual prop is a workaround but it works best on the frigates that are already the best. AB boost for AFs only would create imbalance in the frigate lineup as a whole and make T1 frigates even less useful than they are already, (by which I'm not saying T1 frigates are useless, just lagging a bit too far behind).
My Solution: Reduce heat damage and increase heat boost for all 1MN AB so that frigates can use it as a form of dual prop that gives enough of a short range speed boost to close to tackle distance. And introduce a rig that offsets heat damage still further.

Yes.
--- Players are losing faith and loyalty in CCP due previous expansions not living up to player expectations. The CSM and CCP agreed that expectation management can be improved |

Maybe i should start it's own thread for this...
But what about the Destroyer suggestion?
Simply lifting the entire AF concept up to the Destroyer line.
- More slots overall, to better utilize the stacking of tank/damage oriented bonuses. - More highslots in particular, to better utilize the 'assault' aspect of the offensive bonuses. - A more befitting size for the role of anti-frigate warfare next to anti-class Cruisers and HACs. - A more befitting size for a ship-line without signature or speed bonuses, to reinforce point one. - A lower priced version of a universally enjoyed concept seen in the Vagabond, and an intermediate step to it. - Giving that typical role to all races, without really usurping a HAC's role since they have more raw figures. - Frigates already having 4 tech II branches (Covops, EAF, Ceptor, Bomber), while Destroyers have 1 (Dictors). - The awesome fun of dashing around at 2500m/s, with some buffer and firing 8 small guns with dual damage bonuses. - Generally similar core stats to the Interdictor, perhaps an extra slot here or there to round out the less specialized role.

Retribution should obviously have a 20% of a midslot bonus.

I still like my idea of
15% reduction of neutralizer/nosferatu effects per level
Or
15% reduction of stasis webifier effects per level
Move one of the other bonuses from assault ships down to the frigate level and make this one of the assault ship bonuses

Originally by: Larry Wickes I tried a Hawk out for the first time the other day just fooling around with a friend and we ending up meeting with a slightly larger gang which we joined. I helped kill a Tempest, and almost a Domi (Wasn't paying attention, and he neuted my point off.)
Anyway. HOLY TOLEDO THE HAWK IS SLOW. With a T2 Overdrive and T2 AB it'll hit about 1000 m/s, which for a frigate is kinda slow. I definitely welcome a speed buff to AF's.
This is what prompted the post. It's hard to even reach MWD'ing battleships who started at optimals on a gate.

Neuts aren't much of a problem for me in my vengeance. I fit two small nosferatus. I fire the second the nosferatu halfway through the cycle of the first nosferatu. This allows me to maintain my warp scram and AB at all times.
I also have a cap booster with + 100 charges. I'll use this right after a neut cycle then pop both of my dual armor reps (with two +15% repair rigs), allowing me to also maintain tank, while my two 125mm autocannons II's pop any drones (autocannons use no cap) with faction EMP charges.
If anything I'd say that neuts are balanced against frigates. The real problem is BATTLESHIPS OUTRUNNING ME. All too often battlesips will sit at their optimals (30-45km) on a gate and MWD/warp away before I get to land a point, and this is AFTER our inty pilots had to bail to avoid death.

I won't because I have a reason to live. On the other hand, it's peeps like you that have no life whatsoever that need to ****block yourselves. I'd rather give my opinion than support something that I don't deem necessary.
Asking me a preposterous question over game mechanics. It really shows what you have to live for. Nothing else.
