Hi guys
I was wondering if there was a cd/boxed edition of eve online for sale anywhere? I have limited allowance on my internet (15GB for the month), and although this allowance is fine for general youtube-ing team speak and eve playing... downloading the whole game again after I upgrade from xp to windows 7 might be a bit too much for me.
Thanks in advance -------

Bear in mind even if you buy the boxed edition there is still likely to be at least a 2gb patch to download. I'd advise using a friends net connection to get the latest build. ---

yeah, that's what I was worried about... i remember the character creator took around 1.5GB alone... boxed set "post-character creator" would be nice :( oh well. -------

Fair warning ... I doubt the box version would be fully updated, there would more then likely be a patch you would have to download.

the most recent box that was released was the Commissioned Officers Edition. We have had several patches since the box was released so you will need to update the game.

If you know someone that has the game installed, you can just copy the CCP folder from the 'program files' system folder. If you are copying it from xp to windows 7, you probably need to run the directx install found in sub-folder in the cpp folder to get it to work.

The COE is good value for money. I advise you purchase that one and then install the rest from a friend. Peace through supreme firepower |

Just backup your c:\program files\ccp folder to USB or DVD, and then copy it over to your new win7 install. No problems, trust me. I have lived for the past 3 years with a 1gb monthly cap (capless for 6 months now). Just make sure you backup same folder before each patch.
I agree that shooting people with a headache in the head is a good idea, because it will stop their headaches. |

You guys still thinking about making that collectors edition EVE box set? I'd buy it.

You may have to run the dxsetup.exe in the \bin\directx\ folder first in order for the game to run, but yeah same as above I have just copied the folder from one computer to another with no problems after running that.

confirming the above works. just copy the folder or back it up somewhere.
I've done it countless times - i only ever patch it once then push it to my laptop and 3 other pc's in the house via a simple copy :)

Confirming this works!
Copied over the ccp folder in "program files" to my external HD... then imported it over after the windows upgrade, ran the DirectX.exe file in the eve "bin" folder, also ran the "repair.exe" in the main eve folder, downloaded new drivers, restarted and VOILA! -------
