Now that we've had a while to tweak all our setups and get used to the new depletion mechanics, what's the bottom line on the changes? Is it taking significantly more effort to get the same income or is it even possible to maintain the same income levels as before?
I run six planets in a 0.5 highsec system producing Coolant and Mechanical Parts. Before the changes I ran 23-hour cycles and got about 100 million isk/month for 5-10 minutes effort each day.
Now I have the same six planets producing the same goods. However I use 3-day cycles and spend maybe five minutes every third day to make sure nothing is out of balance. Once or twice I've had to readjust my head positions to rebalance the inputs. I make 80-90 million isk/month.
The 10-20 million isk/month "loss" may be due to the market. I haven't been tracking it that closely. However, my monthly income is certainly in the same ballpark as before but with less effort to maintain. ---------- The right to do something doesn't make doing it right. |

So you are doing 33% (or lower) work and making 80% to 90% what you were before.
I'd say that was a gain, not a loss.

I do only 20% of work that I used to do before and get 80% of the income. The production did went down but the whole system got a lot more dynamic. Here is some info about depletion: Link

I put in less effort and get about 50% of the original return. I don't think the effort is 50% less since you have to factor in hauling goods to market which does not change, per unit.
Actually, at the moment I do 0% and get 0%. There's your real change. Because looking at a bunch of green planets with bad yields is depressing and boring and makes me just want to quit the game again. Congrats CCP.

Quite interesting - exactly opposite here, I'd given up on the previous PI clickfest but now I happy chug along with my little profits and smile each time I cash in!

I average around 300-400 mil a month making POS fuel across 3 characters. Depending on the market I'll make upwards around 500-600 mil a month. I'm having to haul less and click less so overall it's a vast improvement. - - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring

It is, unless you want to get back to 100% of what you were making before.
Overall profits are down, but necessary effort is down more. Once you accept that, the new system is tolerable. Trying to push your profits to the previous level is a recipe for failure and frustration.
Honestly, I didn't mind the effort it took before and would be happy with both effort and income at the previous level. But I can live with this.
BTW, claiming planets as "red" or "green" is meaningless. You do know how the slider works, right?
