Hi guys,
i was really impressed by genos's videos (garmonation8 and drake3.0)... i saw them roaming lowsec with amazing engages always in 2-3 or solo against many players. I was very impressed by 100mnTengus and Machariel's.
In your opinion for roaming lowsec in solo (with scout alt - booster loki/tengu for speed/shield tank) or in 2-3 people maximum, which ship u'd like to choose and why over another (forget about costs effective of the ships. Let's speak only about the "strenght" of the ships). The scenario should be jump over a gate, split the camp and kill who follow u.... so i think an important factor should be the possibility to disengage... have good speed and good DPS (lol obviously).
100mnTengu is immune to scrambling, speed tank, low signature, near 550 dps, good ECM resistance. Good cargo for cap-boosters. Good cap. long range with HML (up to 120 km).
Mach (active shielding) 900dps or more, bigger tank than Tengu, faster (but could be scrambled), less cap. less ECM resistance. Not a very big cargo. bigger sig than tengu.
Sleipnir: more tank, 800 dps, poor ECM resistance, few cap. Little cargo. Less range than machariel.
Also if garmon use a lot Vindicators, Megathron, Hyperion, these BSs seem to me to "slow" for these kind of gameplay so for these i excluded them from my wishlist :)
If u say me choose one, i really dunno which of these 3 pick :) Maybe the Tengu, but maybe 550 DPS (with implants) could be not enough to kill an active BS (like a Mael). With the Mach, if someone may scram u, and u are not fast enough to neut the tackler or kill him, u may have problems. Sleipnir has poor ECM resistance and less range in exchange of more more tank.

Edited by: Daneel Trevize on 22/03/2011 00:10:48 My take on that tengu lark is: you need to be a nano pilot, yes you can't be scrambled but you need to fear going near web range, you have a small buffer, I think a few domis using sentries volleyed one of those multibil isk t3. you need the ganglink loki, the sig, speed and ranged tackle bonus really pushes things, being as fast as a vaga while still being active tanked and spewing missiles is different to being just as fast as most equally buffered things with a heated mwd you could really do with a wingmate, so you can burn to range to tank better while they keep things tackled, and to combine tackle and dps to deal with the biggest threats and active tanks
also the isk input does have an effect, the cap stability difference is big. And a lot of people have seen this 100mn tactic now, expect them to know to not burn out to you without logistics, or to not be shocked by the speed under a scram but to call for all available heated webs and mwds to keep you held long enough to be neuted and volleyed (remember your agility and acceleration is poor, if you're not out in a cycle or 2 you're probably dead).
for intentionally outnumbered lowsec pew, I think many would suggest myrms, cyclones, the bonused BSs and command ships. And before trying the tengu style thing, do fly a vaga/fleet stabber or something else nano.
Edit: the mach, it's still a BS, a tackling t1 frig and a couple of dps cruisers can easily keep up with and break that, and give it big tracking issues. See Don's latest Nano vid, Garmon/Count is clear how the tackling frigs are a huge threat and his mach is at high risk until the enemy unexpectedly flee or everyone has burnt away far enough and can warp (except that guy that gets tackled, they warp back to help him, and the enemy lose that tackle as the rest of them land in dangerous range again ) |

Edited by: Spit Chew on 22/03/2011 00:23:25 The tengu, unless you get butt-hurt about lost sp from a subsystem skill when it pops. In that case i'd say mach.
Having said that, if you're willing to use the amount of isk someone like garmon does, it doesn't really matter which ship you pick. Just throw on a few billion isk in active tank, pack the hold with boosters, drugs, and ammo, then go nuts.
Edit: In fact you'll probably get more goodfites if you pimp a less common non-pwnmobile. I've had some fairly halarious 1v4's in a faction fit ferox using crystals and blue pill. Ofc, it becomes comedy killmail of the month when you die.

The active blaster eagle from the Active HACs vid is a great example of doing something unexpected (surviving for long enough to kill a recon and maybe more) but then it also turns into one of those lolmails. But those AT 2nd place chaps are seemingly minted. TBH I like the Sac fight at the start of that, an mwd and cloak to get about null, then active tanked to rip up a bunch of stuff, and the fit's t2 I believe.
Getting into the right situation in the right fit is at least half the battle, so cheap fits which you can keep picking up and taking out will get you the best bang per buck and time, probably. |

No. It doesn't speedtank, as it can't TURN while the AB is on. You get a burst of agility/speed moments after the ABs deactivates, but all you can do is fly in a straight line away from things.
Incredibly over-rated ship.
...Then when you stopped to think about it. All you really said was Lalala. |

Try flying perpendicular to turret ships at that speed, see the lack of dps from guns with enough range, pretty sure that's speed tanking there, as well as sig. |

the t3 and battleship action in most of the genos videos is a little misleading. they're typically supported with links, pirate implants and faction modules. don't fit one up according to budget and expect the same performance without meeting those standards.
take it from a genos pilot, lots of us use the stuff when it comes to expensive ships. entertaining yes, but also a little misleading - MY LATEST VIDEO - FRIGANK VIII VOTE PROM4CSM |
