Hi, may GM remove/delete two of my skills? In short, i started as Minmatar just for looks, but immediately switched to Amarr line up. Now, all my gunnery skills are at IV-V, except the legacy Small Projectile Turret III. I just canŠt stand it. The IIIŠs skill is harassing my beautiful looks of IV-V. The same with Space Ship Command skills, i so hate to have Minmatar Frigate III. Is there a chance that GM could remove/delete these skills? I donŠt want the SP back or spend them elsewhere, i accept the SP from these skills would be lost and if i will want to have these skills in future i would have to buy the books to train it up again (even i donŠt think i will want). So, is it possible?

They don't do that. But at some point, everyone gets another race to specialize in, it's not wasted. And Minmatar would be a good race to swap to from Amarr. If you're really OCD, you can train them to IV now I guess.

There's no limit on how many skills you can train so there's no reason for CCP to have added a way to remove them. You'll just have to deal with having projectile turrets 3.

complete small guns....learn minny frig 5, get some very nice t2 frigates.
Join an alliance that like explosive bombs...well there you go, can fly a sb that hits explosive much harder than your preferred racial sb (more dps....when is it a bad thing).
X-trains are good, especially if going pvp. Market out of amarr crap, pick up other races ships. Hell train up some gallente frigate too...whats not to like about dramiel.

Do you see anything wrong with a mechanic that lows you to redistribute SPs at will? If you have trained 1 million SPs then they are yours to do with as you please... Discuss...

1. What would the 'story' be? That you 'forgot' something and somehow learned something else immediately? It doesn't make sense to me.
2. It would enable people to train up any skills and then change at will later on. To me this would take away a large part of the skill planning that I really enjoy. |

Traitor! When the empire of the Amarrian-dogs burn and they cry out for they "God" you will join them in the house of Hel.

Yeah anyway, train it to IV. It'll only take 20 hours or so being a rank one skill. My alt is matari born but trains caldari (for Tengu boosting!) but then she does have Small projectile V and Minmatar frigate V. The former due to OCD with skills and the latter for a Cheetah. There are two sides to the EVE community; those that scream for change and those that scream against it. Often they are the same person. |

Edited by: Dark Voynix on 11/04/2011 14:42:16 To the op: In your case i suggest you to reconsider your wishes. There are loads of amar ships that work even better with autocannons than with lasers. If you look at ship stats you will see that there are some amar ships with turrets but not damage/rof bonus ( just reduced cap usage). In those ships projectiles do more dammage , can chose damage type, dont use cap AT ALL and have even lesser fitting requirements. Try autocannon maller and see whan i mean.
But as general discussion i can understand what you mean. My char have 63m skills, its a dedicated pvper but have a worthless L1 mining skill (all alone in a skill section) i got from char creatition. Its disturbing (years ago the char creation was quite different than now). This skill it's a heresy on what i aimed for years ( pure fighter ) and i whish i could simply delete it.

I have, Ellen, actually petitioned for this a few times over the years.
The older chars had a lot of mix in skills and I asked to have the mining/industry skills deleted on one. That's deleted. As in, lose the SP forever.
GM said no.
And I had another 40M SP Rorqual character with a beautiful looking skill sheet. Except Gunnery and Small Hybrid. So I petitioned to have the skills and related SP deleted.
GM said no.
There are a lot of options in this game. I think we should be able to arbitrarily delete skills we don't want. Most of us are mature enough to make that decision for ourselves.
Sandbox, remember. Don't hold my hand CCP. I accept responsibility for deleting my own hard earned SP.

The only problem with this is you could max Perception and Willpower and keep all other Attributes at lowest value, train just the skills that use Per/Wil then redistribute as needed, therefore kind of back-dooring the consequences of having evenly distributed attributes.
The only way you would ever be able to redistribute SP is if you lost a certain percentage of it for good. That would prevent abuse. Either way I doubt we will ever see it.
Deleting skills on the other hand, I am surprised we don't already have that.

Because of all the petitions CCP will get for people deleting skills when they are drunk.
