You know what I mean guys. I go in the market and I totally manipulate the HELL out of it to get rich as all hell. I go to Jita or Dodixie and haul or I sit in the station and just trade.
1st - I view market details on every single item I get from loot or trading.
2nd - I then look how many of each of the things are on the market.
3rd - I make a decision as to whether or not buy all of them out of that station because it's the main hub, and people want them, and buy them out for the low price.
4th - I then have 40 of my item that is relativly cheap, combined with the 60 plus I just bought out.
5th - I then sell ONE at a VERY high price.
6th - I then sell them at a much higher price that what they were.
7th - When a person comes and tries to compete with me and sells what I just put the module on for 1mill isk, they try and sell 15 for 850,000. Then, if they bite, I then sell all my orders for much less money. But I make alot because I sell 200 at a time.
8th - Sit back and enjoy wallet ticks every 10 min!

That sounds like a complicated plan with a lot of steps (more than eight, including the gathering that occurs before "1st"). Perhaps you can simplify your business model to make more ISK more quickly? E.g.,

Lots of steps, and also dependent on "someone trying to compete", but congrats or whatever.
Also, in step 7, I think you mean "sees" rather than "sells".

Do people really buy at the high end of the scale? I haven't had any luck with that.

Not quite sure what he is doing for the last steps.
However, I've been in situations where my trade slots are much more valuable with buy orders then sell orders, so if I go to sell and I have 5 items of X, the lowest bidder has 140 and the average turnover day to day in 50 units. I know he is stock piling.
So if buy order is 500k, he is selling for 1 mil, and average price is 800k I will put sell order for my 5 at 750k in hopes that the 140 unit guy will just buy me out so I can have that slot back.
However, some times that guy with 140 units will undercut me to 749.99k at that point I will go "really?" and buy him him out then relist at 1 mil.
so is it kind of like that?
I buy mission loot in bulk at above buy order prices! (sinq laison) |

1. Pick an item. Buy every single unit. 2. Relist for whatever you think is nice and high but will still sell. 3. Wait until you turn a profit. 4. Dump the rest on buy orders.

Ah because the before it was buy order 100k sell order 150k median... he bought them all out and relisted for 350k.
Since now there is a 250k "margin", people start raising up their buy order prices as more people want it, and lets say it goes now to 260k.... So he dumps then for 260k on the buy order market?

Yes, but even if nothing happens to the buy orders, if you buy 10 for 150k (for a total of 1,5m) and sell 5 for 350k (for a total of 1,75m) then you already have more money than you started with, and you can either trash the rest of the stock, or just quick-sell it to the highest buy order.
Obviously this would have to be on a larger scale, billions not millions.

Well since you asked: Because if you drag it out any longer than that, people will start listing more of your stuff and a few hours of undercutting later things will be back to normal, except you have wasted a few hours nudging your orders when you could have spent a few hours bathing in your relatively small, but easily earned bit of profit.
But yes, you're right, obviously when I say turning a profit I mean milking it to the point where you don't feel like it anymore. Personally I just like to scoop some cream off the top before the milk starts to curdle. Others like to wait for a nice mature cheese.

Yes,
tiny example: A couple of us were selling badger iis in amarr for 1.5 million for a week or two ( a few much higher) after I bought the hundred or so that were on the market at a fair price... the higher price in the hub also supports the higher prices you have for those dispersed to other locations within the region as its hard to stay the low price at the hub much of the day with the full time .01 guys
.. really wasn't a huge amount of profit given the volume maybe 50 to 100 million isk almost for lolz and a secondary reason I won't spout about.. but there are definitely bigger windfalls and if traders in an item cooperate its quite easy to keep the price of a 800k item at 1.5 million for a while. (or 3 at 3 or 5 at 8 etc). The average buyer isn't that price sensitive but at some point inventory will start to build up because the percentage of the buyers who are price sensitive won't buy and buy volume won't meet supply.
If you're buying up the inventory at a lower end of a trading range you can dump the remainders back at the price you bought them or just use them for inventory for mini-hubs with higher prices you serve. Pretty much have a "free put"
