So someone is being a jerk in Corp chat... Bad enough to warrant kicking from corp. Can't expel him because he is in space (bad rule if you ask me) And I can't seem to find a way to moderate Corp chat. Can someone help me out? He's offending a lot of members, so I need to try and get him out, or at least block him from corp chat.
Thanks.

file a petition. Stick it under harassment and they should get to you quick. Normally they gag the asshat and if you cant get him out of corp they can boot him for you.

Find him and pod him back to a station. Its all fair game since he is in your corp. (not 100% sure about the podding)

Petition it. If he's refusing to dock specifically to avoid being kicked, I believe the GMs can move him to a station long enough for you to do the deed --Vel

This is a very broken rule it seems like. Why can't we expel someone or at least moderate corp chat more effectively? Hm... Thanks everyone.

your members have the power to block him and they can't see what he says.

The reason you cannot kick someone who is in space is:
A corp would war dec another. The deccing corp would wait until one of their members was in a fight and being called primary. Then they would kick said member. Result: All of the ships shooting the kicked member would get concorded.
The easy fix given the state of the eve code was to make kicking members only possible when docked.

Yeah, you only can't kick them if they're online and in space.

Aren't wardecs a 24h deal? Have to wait 24hours before they kick in? So ... that argument falls apart there, should be able to kick pilots anywhere. It's the same with invites and that sux too.

TIMELINE: Monday 8:00:00 AM - player A's corp wardecs corp X Tuesday 8:00:00 AM - war goes into effect Tuesday 8:00:01 AM - player A in space, near player B of corp X Tuesday 8:00:02 AM - player B starts shooting player A, player A does not shoot back Tuesday 8:00:03 AM - player A gets booted from corp Tuesday 8:00:04 AM - CONCORDOKKEN INITIATED, target player B [...] Tuesday 8:01:00 AM - player A rejoins his corp after looting player B's wreck and depositing goodies in station to keep'em safe [...] Tuesday 8:15:00 AM - player A in space, near players C through Z of corp X Tuesday 8:15:01 AM - ??? Tuesday 8:15:02 AM - PROFIT !!! [...] (repeat until nauseated)
So how exactly does the argument fall apart if wardecs take 24h to be put into effect ? _

I'm sorry, my mind isn't made for exploitation =)
Meaning, I can't picture those situations.

Yours may not be, but there are more than enough people who DO think like that to break the game completely if certain tactics aren't removed. |

tarasina, you need to play EVE more then. Theres been many crazy exploits. Some dude went to another dudes home address and cut his power so his titan would be defenseless. Do some homework dude. [≡v≡] |

I have had this problem before and this is what we did (this was with a spy tho,not harrasment).
We created another channel, moved all corp members in there, then just stopped using corp chat while waiting for DT. Unless this has been changed (which i doubt) you can kick players that are in space while they are offline. Think about players who logged out at a POS and then went inactive as an example..CCP would have a lot of petitions if you couldent kick them. Ofc its possible this guy knows about this, and will just make sure that he is around the same minute the server comes back up,which means you have to wait for a convinient server crash.
But since harrasment is against the EULA they should be able to just remove him from your corp and give him a warning.
Good luck and hope it turns out ok

Haha - make sure you record his rage when he get's moved by a GM or something like that. Odds are he will have some child-like rage :)
It will be beautiful.
